I guess some big event was going on where fire rifts kept spawning and then you heard people talking. It was insane. I died a lot trying to help out. I was only level 12 and most of the things I was fighting was 15ish.
I'm digging the game. Reminds me a lot of WoW, in a good way.
the most roleplaying i've been exposed to is the guild of guardians that spout off stupid piraty talk and the guild of defiants called amazonians that are all females that play without their chest armor.

So my Dom build did not work out too well. I stayed alive a lot, and I kept other people alive. But it turns out people are stupid. I'll save someones life with an insta-cast transmog...And they they will just tap it out of CC and go back to getting killed.
I just made a Stormcaller and I was spamming AoE and did pretty well, except once I run out of mana? Thats it. i basically have to die so i can get some more.
Also, I'm only 19 so my builds are not very good to begin with.
I wish I had someone to team with in PvP because I'm sure if we both had a pet, the two of us could just dps anything down in a heart beat. (insert pyro comment here)
I spend soooo much planarite on augment boxes. Its like gambling, hoping to get something useful and not a centaur pos that increases parry and wisdom.
4k planarite today, got 2 melee crits, wisdom/SP, 2 Saintstones and some other crap ones. Wheee.

Dom seems like the best spec ever for pvp till you realize it relies completely on other people, then you see why it is a miserable failure.
Ok, so the search feature in this game is abysmal.
I searched the guild The Six Mouths and apparently it searched for all guilds that began with "the". So I made an ass out of myself trying to get in a guild called "The Black Company". Oh well, the guy was understanding.
Searching for each word individually ("the", "six", and "mouths") brings up only one play consistently and that's Umesys, who did not respond to my tell.
I'm off to bed, having just gotten off work, so I'll be on later to try my luck again. My toons name is Trundle.

Apparently you need to search just six mouths. Also, the search does suck ,half the time you click someones name to bring up a who on them, like to see their level and it just returns their name and nothing more. Shits dumb

I gave up on Dominator for the exact reason you state. In DAoC people -knew- that when you saw little ZzZzZz,s floating up on someone you didn't hit them, and if you broke mez you weren't getting heals, so deal with being dead. Then along came WoW and nowadays unless someone tags the player being mezzed no one seems to know what to do. People just don't pay attention anymore!
I got to the point where I just ignored transmogrify unless I was casting it on a healer or a ranged attacker. Anyone already in melee, it wouldn't stick anyway.
Two days ago I switched to Chloro/Pyro and dropped Dom completely. So mush easier to play!
I don't remember what DAoC graphics for being mezzed were like, but I know in Rift that I can't fucking tell. I know the time I saw Corrigan sap something in Iron Tombs, I didn't react because I couldn't tell anything had happened. It took me like 5 seconds to realize the thing's eyes were slightly glowing. Hell when I'm sapped out in the world I get confused until I realize that's the only thing that could've happened. Rift animations are fairly weak.
CC effects should pop a giant cartoonish logo over people's heads. E.g. the broken sword for Disarm effects, except not so transparent and incredibly hard to see (sensing a pattern...).
I really should have seen this coming, but I'm growing concerned with how much replay value Rift is going to hold for me. I lack the available time to be able to run experts and raids and all the endgame stuff that MMOs offer, and as such, I'm an altaholic. It's why I played WoW for so long. Unfortunately, with Rift, there's no need to roll alts. 4 characters and you're done. There's no need to make any more alts because you can do everything with those 4. I only have the one 50 right now and a couple lowbies, so I hope I'm way off base, but I'm not holding my breath just yet. Please tell me I'm wrong.
Rolled a cleric this morning and I think I'll try a warden unless someone can tell me who another great group healer is for pvp.
Level Inq / Sent / Warden for PVE everything but dungeons, and use Sent/Ward/Inq for PVP healing / dungeons, and your PVE spec for PVP damage (pre-50 anyhow).
Those two specs will get you to level 50 without any problems. In fact, before hitting 50 I didn't spend 20 of my main heal spec points just because I wasn't sure what I wanted to go, and I healed like a boss. Only once you hit experts do you need a dedicated PVE main heal build.
Don't play Druid pre-50*. It's the worst soul in the game.
* Rumor has it that it is good for level 50 single target DPS, but it was probably about as bad as solo leveling Holy Priest so I'm skeptical.

Thanks for the gear Corrigan. Whatever augments you put in there added more stats than I expected. Though the silk robe? Yeah, my dude totally looks like some sort of sci-fi, gay wrestler now.
I'm leveling so slowly but I think I'll end up hitting 40 tonight. The quests have just started to really drag on. I'm looking forward to the group finder, but I'm concerned about how useful it'll be since my playtimes are mostly late night/early morning for most of the server.
Hopped into a warfront before logging off last night and ended up getting Codex. I've been playing Necro/Dom, but I'm not yet to the point where my transmorgiphy is insta-cast yet. I did a lot less damage than I expected, coming in middle of the scoreboard, but on the other hand I only died once and that was while holding the fang. I also tricked someone by feigning death with 14 health left. I was stoked to have survived that.

Yay 50! I've got 4 runecrafter plaques so far (zero outfitters ), and looking over the ones I can buy with it none of them hold any interest for me (+10dex? No thanks, I'll take my +15 crit), so if the guild has needs for anything please let me know and I can buy them (I'm ~283 RC atm, but could grind that up higher to make the 300s if needed, was trying to wait on the patch to re-align the mats).

For PVE rogues, +10 dex is better than +15 crit. Most specs can pick up the easy 15% dex, which gives you 11.5 dex which translates to 11.5 points of Crit and 5.75 points of attack power. The runes also sell pretty well. My best selling runes have been Blazing Resolute, which is +11 end to boots, and Blazing Sagacious which is +13 wis helm/legs, Also +13 dex to chest/shoulders can sell pretty well.
Most of the good recipes drop from t1 and t2 dungeons though, and you will need 300 RC to use the high end stuff. I've been able to sell Blazing Reso's for about 4p each, and I have an Incadescent Precise Runeshard recipe which is epic, that I've been able to sell for about 6p to 1-2 people.

By the way, when you first get to Meridian, you have this quest where you have to talk to two dudes in the big chamber. My quest map shows they are 'above' me but when I go to the upper level I do not see them anywhere. It's driving me crazy, where are they?

There's like 4 levels between the ground floor and top floor. Just go to the teleporters in the middle of the room and click on up instead of top floor.

I am addicted to this game. Yesterday I leveled a Warrior from 1 - 15 in about 8ish hours. Today in about 2 hours I leveled a Rogue up to 9 on a different server. So after 3 days of owning this I'm already thinking it's better than WoW and FFXI, which are the only two MMOs I've ever enjoyed. I have tried many and none of them came close to those two. Age of Conan being the biggest disappointment of them all. But I digress.
I'm so sad they're taking the servers down. I guess I'll go to sleep and when I wake up I'll be able to get 4 hours or so in before my shift at work tonight.

Yeah, but AP is so garbage currently I'd almost rather the extra crit (although it does also give parry i guess). I have enough to buy 2 runes, so I'll probably grab the dex one anyway and then whatever other one the guild needs (since Hypacia is taking a break).
I figure tomorrow I'll go grind leather in stillmor for awhile to both max out butchering and get enough mats to grind outfitter to 300 (or at least 280) and then blow up all that stuff to get enough mats to grind out 300 RC.
I'd like to tank more than dps, but I haven't had the dungeon experience to learn how to do it. I'm not gonna just jump in on experts, so if you need someone to tank a non-expert dungeon for you I'd be happy to give it a shot. I might try an expert as dps, but that also sounds a bit intimidating.
I don't want to go through the same thing on my 19 cleric, so if you're running IT and need heals look me up

mainly cause in 50 with a smart team and a dom on your side you can mess people up
