One of the biggest annoyances I have with this game is that it doesn't run when minimized. Loading screens freeze at 93% until maximized and if I minimize while auto running I'll stand still. Tried running in windowed mode and that fixed that issue but the game doesn't have an option for a fullscreen windowed mode as best as I can tell and having my task bar overlap the game is driving me crazy. Does anyone have a fix to either? Non-steam version if it matters.

I mean it does have a full screen windowed mode, because that's what I use.
I'm pretty sure that I don't work next Saturday, so that being the case i'd like to organize on Sunrest a raid.
We'll be aiming for Greenscale, and we should gather and such around 6pm est time. I think that's a decent time to start?
Hopefully all the 50's and such who are geared and close to geared see this and you know show up.
Sorry Corrigan but I wanna try organizing it for Saturday since we still have no one showing up
We had 4 50s on at 6pm on saturday this weekend. I'd try much later.
So 8-9pm?
Probably a higher chance of having more people. I've said repeatedly that you guys can run raids whenever you'd like btw. We just did sunday because it was easiest for Vass and some others to get to, so we could have the tanks. Now that the old 50s quit you guys can do it on any day you want, I just can only do weekends, and Sunday is much easier than sats for me.

dum de dum de dum...well got my invite and i've been chatting in guild chat. shocking! anywho, i got a message in game that some of my data was corrupt and that i must perform a recovery of the software...doing that now, it says "this will take some time"...not may, but will. So, i'll let that do that for a while before leveling bob, or tim, or whatever my character's name is to the guild. :P

Was it the popup in game? You can mostly ignore that. I had it a few times, ran full scans, no change. It went away after a few logins.
so things I learned tonight... RIftstalking isn't that hard (lv 20 in IT). Queuing again because you forget to grab the quest item for the epic saga quest leads to a healer DCing and his real life friend feeling bad and switching to his 50 mage and healing the rest of that instance and deepholm strike.
Got a lot of tank practice plus 2 levels in those two runs.
crap now I have to go to the real world and deal with guardians when they get bored or want my rifts.
Holy crap I hit this game hard. Hit 14 (?) my first play time through. Still vaguely feel like I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing, but leveling a warrior tank spec (have the Cleric for heals that I'll level eventually). Game seems pretty fun....did a few random rifts and its awesome coming together with random people to beat the badguys back, and then saving the day and going back to normal questing.
Is there anything that will help me measure threat later when I actually get to a level to tank in instances?

If you hit "i" it'll bring up the LFG tool. Down a the bottom of that, you'll notice a little arrow that you can expand for dungeons. It'll give you the level requirements for dungeons. If you fall within those requirements you're good to go.
I think the first dungeon is for level minimum of 17. Give or take. You have some time, so don't rush it. Just get used to your character and how he plays. And above all else, have fun.
Yeah, liking Faeblight as well. Also ditto on hitting the game surprisingly hard. Picked up the free trial on Friday, hit 15 and talked myself into buying the CE. Now I'm about halfway through 30. I think I have a problem :?
Thankfully I have real obligations for the rest of the week so I won't be able to keep up that pace.

You and Bartinyou are leveling very fast. It took me a while to level my warrior to 50(I tend to goof off a lot(like the time Riss and I went to Sanctum)). It's almost scary how fast you're going through all this.

Yeah, I'm a leveler. On WoW I have something like 4 85s, 6 80s, and 3 70+. I just really enjoy character progression and getting access to new abilities, so I'm hooked.
That said I'm not so much leveling quickly as I just had a ton of time to throw into the game this weekend. I'm sure it'll slow down now that I have 1-2 hours a day to play instead of like 10.

I hear ya, when I stopped playing WoW I had 3 85s, 5 80s, and a few alts between 50-70. I also have 5 characters on Faeblight, but I'm focusing more on my rogue now.
I feel like I've had to adjust my expectations of what an MMO is about. Sometimes Rift's not about doing quests, sometimes it's about being an emergency responder to alien invasions, and that's just how it is. :?
Quests are something you do to spend time between Invasions. I've gained more xp and better gear from putting down Invasion bosses than from any of the instances.
But I had such a good time with the Kira/Uriel mission arc that I'm considering making a guardian alt to see what big, game-long quests they have.
Also, I love the soul system so much. It means that 1.) Sometimes I'm the only cloth wearer in a group and 2.) its easy to chain runs together because if one or two people leave, a quick shuffle will take care of tanks/healing.
I ran AP and CC yesterday morning for the first time and ended up getting like 5 replacement pieces.
I would love it if invasion quelling were better xp/hour.

For all of Saturday, Sunday and Monday any time I tried to port/load into Meridian it would reach 93% loaded and crash. Every. Single. Time. It was so consistent that it ended up just being how I quit playing. "Welp, time to log off," just port back to Meridian and walk away from the computer.
That is why when it actually loaded this morning I was shocked to find the game still running when I walked by again 15 minutes later.
I hate this quest oh-so-much. It's a bit fubar'ed at step three "The Care and Imprisonment of Changelings". I have four guardian characters, spread in level from 37 to 15 and not a single one has passed this step yet. Not because it is difficult (it isn't), but because the blasted major invasions that are required are super rare, and then when they do pop, there are (literally) hundreds of level 50 characters needing credit. So the end-boss tends to have a lifespan of around 90 seconds. Unless you are already nearby, you wont have time to get to the boss before it dies.
I think I've gotten credit for Cinderon on one of my characters, and that was only due to pure, blind luck (i.e. being the right place at the right time).
That's not what he meant. The Uriel/Kira story is not the "Epic Saga" storyline. They're just two recurring high ranking Defiant characters that appear everywhere and have their own mini-story ending in Stillmoor.

My justicar/shaman/warden kills like molasses compared to my elementalist/warlock/chloro. Of course, my cleric NEVER DIES.

As Corrigan can attest, I'm a horrible person to rely on playing anything, but I'm gonna give this a real shot!
Defiant on Sunrest for Six Mouths, right?

I have read some people getting to 50 in 3 days played.
It slows down a dbit at 30-35ish I think.
