Awesome , went 7/0/6 in the game that got me to thirty. Also had my first experience laning against an Urgot in forever . Was very close till I hit 6 and managed to get the first kill. Just snowballed from there.
Killed jarvan at 3 as soon as I got my triple combo, but really I don't get why he was farming our melee waves with ashe hanging back while slightly overextended.
He did better once he got tankier but still, letting me and shen get early items can't have been a good thing.
Also that ashe escaped while one hit from dead so many times before we finally got her. Slows, flash/heal and early pots and she'd just run away barely surviving all the time.
Number one reason armor is better: Can't dodge abilities.
I can mitigate most armor with standard items for just about any carry, and yes certain abilities can be dodged
not to mention that many abilities are magic damage, even some that scale with ad
so....
try again?
I don't see how you refuted my point. Only abilities that modify base attacks can be dodged. Armor is pretty universal.
So if you want to theorycraft your optimal situation where your dodge wins out due to always being applicable somehow, go ahead. I'll go ahead and use my armor to stop a percentage of all physical damage, instead of dodging a small portion of abilities or autoattackers (which thornmail already counters)
Every character that has you targeted auto-attacks you between skills, even casters.
When you couple this with the fact that armor is so easily attainable in game (and usually comes with ancillary benefits like health), and dodge is not, then it's a no-brainer to use dodge runes if it doesn't take away from other, more optimal builds in your yellow slot.
If you look at the rune pages of a lot of the higher elo players, you'll notice most have more than one page built with dodge yellows.
Anyone who has played with me knows I almost always end up jungling, and I have about 500 normal games played now.
Going Ancient Golem -> Wolves -> Wraiths -> Lizard -> Mini Golems, I've had bad lack of dodge streaks leaving me unable to go ganking or even complete Mini Golems. I've also had streaks where I've finished my clear with nearly full health and potions to spare.
However, I've never had a bad streak from running flat armor runes, because they're always consistent. I prefer consistency.
I click the link to see you standing next to a tower idling while your teammates are off dying to random enemies, all the while you fiddle with your sound settings

Anyone else really want a normal mode draft pick game type?
I think it would be the cools.
Normal already has a hidden ELO though, the only difference between normal mode draft pick and ranked draft pick would be whether or not you could see your ELO afterwards.
In other news, turns out I'm flying out to the Riot offices for an interview next week. I'm trying for a Technical Designer position. Hopefully it all goes well!

Excellent! You can be hired and then everyone will start hating you as well!
In all seriousness though Best of luck!

That's 8% mitigation there, broseidon.
the correct damage per shot in your example is 48.
yeah uh I'm using his example numbers lol
I made that exact point already
I'm rocking the champaigne sake'. my reading comprehension is lowish.

Because if not, yes, please, everyone itemize and rune and mastery some dodge so I can keep playing AP characters and lighting mothers up.
Then again I suppose this argument is largely about junglers and survivability/sustainability in the jungle, soooo... yeah.
Still, I'm curious about this question. My assumption is just no, but I don't really have any experiential basis for it.
On the other hand
armour can be penetrated in a percentile fashion by last whisper while dodge cannot
On the other hand
dodge doesn't stack like armour does because of that weird multiplicative scaling they put in
left hand right hand assbeating hand
armor can be mitigated pretty easily nowadays
also, afaik the only abilities that are dodgable are ones that modify the champs attack i.e. bite, pick a card etc...
Gentleman Gragas looks badass .
Bite is a special case
card cannot be dodged as of some patch

and now fucking Macarena!?
Nemlock for online gaming
yes.
Randuin's has armor.
It does not have dodge.
Armor is therefor better.
and you have 10 armor pen
I still have 10 more armor than a guy without any armor runes when you hit me
for i am a wise banana
nah dodge runes are too expensive fuck em
cassiopeia is one particularly good example which most people don't consider

Clutch nimbleness saves are the most satisfying way to survive
