I love how you guys are forced to overreact when you don't know how to deal with a champion.
He is countered by the same kind of game and map awareness that counters any strong jungle ganker.
Nocturne in particular is capable of ganking at level 4, when he finally takes a level in his fear. He is able to gank slightly earlier in a heavily pushed lane thanks to the movement speed he gains from his Q. He can tower dive with his teammates at 6 if you have put yourself in an easily dive-able situation (it is very easy to tower dive the outer towers early game, all it takes is a tiny amount of coordination and willing teammates).
Buy wards and together with your jungler invade the enemy jungle. Planting a ward in your river brush will only warn you if the enemy mid is sitting there, since we all know nocturne can fly.
talith,
this is not the place for being rational.
Warding the enemy jungle also doesn't help, because, as you said, Nocturne can fly! Yes, you totally deal with him like any other strong jungle ganker: you war- oh, wait...
LoL Tribunal:
"Was cursing, in broken english at his team, and at our team. made fun of dead family members and mentioned he had sex with a dog."
"Hope he dies tbh but a ban would do."
I still haven't learned when I am safe or not in my lane. I don't appreciate the value of map intel, in particular knowing where their jungler is and the opportunities it provides. I have been traumatized too many times by nocturne's ult to think about how to deal with him rationally.
Shark, buddy, calm down. Every champ can be dealt with.
Cool, I make an argument and my personal skill level is attacked. Nice. Real cool, Talith.
EDIT: I guess that means Gary is bad too, right?
I didn't even say he couldn't be dealt with. I said that the solution to him ends up being tower hugging and itemizing heavily against him, both of which set you back tremendously.

for the record I don't think I'm very good
And clearly, Talith is so much better than us. In fact, I think he is so much better than us that I am actually just a bad who doesn't understand how to play this game and disagreeing with Talith about something makes me irrational.
Talith usually carries me when we play, and I just took like a monthlong break due to pokemon, so yeah he probably is way better than me
and I haven't really disagreed with anything he said, I think he just joined the conversation when we were arguing about a ridiculously specific hypothetical situation
playing nocturne isn't a guaranteed win, but he's a really good character
my problem is still that it isn't fun to play against him
gary i tried to get into pokemon but the multiplayer changes were so bad
anyways
shen
super fun
there are a few people in SE++ who are hacking rare candies and you trade your team to them and they level it up to 100 and then trade it back
so you can have old-style good battles with new-style dudes

But look at what you are saying. You've given up hope with dealing with this guy.
You can take it as a personal attack if you want, I did edit your comment after all, but I was pointing out flaws in your play, flaws that any strong jungle ganker specifically exploits. Flaws that nocturne punishes very well with his ult.
You've resigned yourself to tower hugging and itemizing against a specific champ instead of what you should be doing, focusing on:
Map awareness
Lane control
jungle invasion (when approriate)

i dunno, not being able to IV identify or effectively EV train (unless there's guides out that I'm unaware of) saps the magic

battle subway rounds your dudes up to level 50, so that tells you IVs within 1-2 points
we have EV training hotspots listed in the SE++ OP (or at least we did last time I checked)

quit bein a goose
noc is not unbelievably amazingly super op or whatev's, but he is op
and vlad is a good 1v1 champ, and I was super farmed and had twice the cs/kills nocturne had and was lv18 when he wasn't
and I was out farming some creeps or whatever
nocturne ults on top of me
proceeds to 1v1 me with 2/3 of his health left
what the fuck
all he did was press ghostblade and mash all his abilities on me. by the time spell shield/fear was gone I had lost half my health. pool doesn't even break his fear tether

Those are always good things to focus on, yes. However, even loads of map awareness doesn't prevent you from getting ult'd by Nocturne from 1/4 of the map away. You can be aware of where he is in the jungle and therefore tower hug because you know he's in ulting distance. And that's it. You see him somewhere vaguely near you on the map, and you have to retreat to your tower or die. I'm not "resigning" myself to anything, I'm arguing that he forces extremely passive play. Stop trying to imply I'm a bad player instead of arguing, it makes you look like an arrogant goose.

Your opinion is wrong.

Your opinion is left.

That's a far cry from determining an overall power level, although they are contributing factors.
