Like last years humble indie bundle, it's available again! Also like the last one, your donation is split among Frozenbyte, EFF, Childs Play and the site for bandwidth and hosting. The
Humble Bundle this time includes-
Trine
Shadowgrounds
Shadowgrounds:Survivor
Sploit
Jack Claw (A prototype that was canceled, only available in this bundle!)
There are steam codes right off the bat this year, but anything you already have won't net a giftable copy.
from the site
"Please note, while Trine, Shadowgrounds, and Shadowgrounds: Survivor are very polished games and ready to play on all platforms, the Splot and Jack Claw bonuses are different.
Splot is still under development and will be added to your bundle once it is completed. Jack Claw is a prototype of a game Frozenbyte was developing but canceled before completion."

A little disappointed since it feels like a less polished offering than the previous two, but still bought it, I hadn't picked up Trine yet. If they start throwing in bonus games again I'll probably increase the amount.
Almost all the games in the first one I can say good things about (didn't like Lugara that much, too floaty). So six complete games was awesome.

See, it's a moral dilemma here. I usually own most of the games in each bundle, but this time I own all of the ones currently available for purchase. I still support the idea of the bundle, and want to make sure everyone gets a little bit for doing their part, but am not willing to dump significant money in that could be spend on games that I don't own. Net result: I'm another low-paying Windows user statistic.
Trine and Shadowgrounds are both very good though, although they couldn't possibly appeal to more different demographics. And I'm admittedly interested in picking though the bodge of half-finished games liek Jack Claw, so that'll be an immediate download once they're sorted the servers out.
That, and I just hope they don't get discouraged by low contributions from Windows users - yes, we're cheap (in part because there's vastly more competition on the platform) but I'd wager a large part is simply people rebuying games to 1) support the initiative, and 2) get a nice handy ever-growing list of good games in one place that are all DRM-free and platform agnostic.
What, you buy games on Steam that aren't on sale? :P
I don't think they'll get discouraged. This is a charity thing. The devs aren't losing money putting their games in the bundle at this point. If the guys running the Bundle had a problem with small donations, then it's just as simple as putting a floor in that you couldn't donate beneath. It's cheap to put this sort of thing together, it raises a hell of a lot of money and it generates a ton of goodwill from gamers who get some fun games and get to donate to some awesome charities in the same instance.
It's a win for everyone involved. There's no reason to wring hands over what people are donating. None at all.
if you try to donate only $00.01 you can only do it through paypal
amazon and ebay both refuse and say they have minimum payment amounts you must meet
Isn't the Paypal transaction fee like $0.16? Meaning you'd be costing the people involved $0.15 plus bandwidth fees.
"Pay what you want" is exactly that, but at least give some consideration to what you're doing.
That, and I already have Trine, Shadowgrounds, and Shadowgrounds Survivor on Steam.
I think of it less as paying for games, and more an easy way to give 5 bucks each to Child's Play, EFF, and some indie developers respectively. And then hey, free games, bonus! But really it's just my reminder for the charities I already might have given money to, wrapped up in a shiny package.
By the time this post goes through they'll have probably raised over 220,000 dollars. And that's only after a few hours. I'm sure it'll taper off a bit, but I'd say it's already a big success.
I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything about the last humble bundle? Specifically about Cortex Command, which was awesome, but I thought it was going to get updated and as far as I know it never did. Are they still working on it or is it dead?

The unreleased game is probably a good bet based on the previous ones. I know HIB2 was worth it just for Revenge of the Titans for me (in the end, as I already had goo and machinarium).
Also, I'd like to see them continue with these in the future.

I already bought the last two, and this one is already making a crazy amount of money. It's not going to meet the sales of the first two, but everyone involved had to know that going in.
If they throw in a surprise game or an opportunity to get the last bundle again, I'll consider it.
If I buy it, can I give my Trine to someone else since I already own it?
You don't get gift copies if you use the key to register the games on Steam.
if this it the quality of the future humble packs then I don't know if I even want them to do another one.
I might still buy it and give all the money to EFF, Child's play, and just enough of the tip to cover bandwidth.
That's pretty much what I did (already had the three "full" games on Steam)...a straight split between EFF, Child's Play, and Wolfire.
I kinda regret spending, but I guess it was only a buck.

This is my own two cents, but I'm glad Jack Claw was a prototype only. That character design is just terrible.

It did? I thought PayPal's fees were only like 30 cents or something, plus 2.9% of the donation (source). And hosting is pretty cheap. Free for WolfFire and FrozenByte if the person who buys it grabs them on steam.
they should have waited one year and made a real bundle again.
