I hope you will all be doing something, anything, to help the right people get elected. I don't want to hear that apathetic "it doesn't matter!" bullshit. It does matter, it matters a lot, and a single individual can have a great impact with just a little bit of effort.

As we entered her home she asked me to please take a seat. She walked into the bathroom, left the door open, and to my astonishment she began to disrobe. She then called me into the bathroom. I entered and started telling her that I was a married man and that I was only interested in hearing more about Barack Hussein Obama’s birthplace in Kenya. She then striped herself of her under garments, told me to wait for her, and gracefully stepped into the shower. I then stepped out of the bathroom and took my seat in the other room again. I really didn’t know what to do. I wanted to get her story but I wasn’t prepared to trade my body for her account of Barack Hussein Obama’s nativity story.

I love America and all but I'm fucking sick of voting for stuff. Can't go one damn year without having to vote for county dogcatcher or some shit.
I feel like policy-makers in America have just gotten gradually more sarcastic when it comes to democracy.
"Oh you want more of a voice? Well how about you vote on every piece of significant state legislation. Go ahead, do our job for us, we don't mind. Hey, while we're at it, we're gonna have you vote twice in every presidential election."

No they aren't. Not soon, anyway. Even if you're talking about Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, or West Virginia, you've got like half a year before any of that really gets going. Presidential primaries aren't for another year or so. This thread has little to do but rumble around as a general political thread.

I like the way birthers always use his middle name.
Kind of like how hippies were always careful to refer to W as "Mr." Bush.

Depends on what you mean by elections, I know we've got a shitload of municipal elections coming up here. The mayor is an asshole but so's everyone running against him, I hope they all choke and die.
so deacon do you think president obama was born in hawaii or, you know, are there, you know, unresolved questions there.
The whole question is pretty stupid if you ask me.
The loser is always looking for a "you didn't REALLY win though" out - look at the left complaining about SCOTUS in 2000 and evil diebold voting machines in 2004.
I accept that we did not win.

Well, yeah, there are always local elections and referendums going on year-round every year. But very very few of them are influential enough for their own threads. And even if we're referring to those, we don't really have thread focus on them in the OP.

Diebold is legitimate issue, regardless of the outcome.

Diebold being a shitty company that made a shitty product that didn't live up to the specifications they claimed is a problem with Diebold.
Kerry losing in 2004 was a problem with Kerry's charisma, likable nature, and humanity. He didn't have any.

You are insignificant
No.
No you're not.
Just like Bush Dukakis but in this case Obama Romney.
You elected an outsider who was supposed to change everything, and it's been nothing but status quo.
Don't even try to say it's because you had 59 senate seats instead of 60.
Wow
The Rock says that's The Rock's line!
