Also: throw me into the boat of people who aren't thrilled about the warp gate change. Depending on the change, it could potentially change EVERYTHING about the way protoss opens. This is all at a time when the 'problem' matchup is rapidly evolving and shifting.
It could actually help toss econ openings. If they go with the concept that gateways should build faster than warpgates you don't need to spend chrono on warpgate research at all...say hello to more probes!
I'm pretty sure that late-game zerg will be unbeatable on large maps when the game gets more figured out. Mostly because of nydus play.

Really my dream is to just build tons of far-flung bases and drones and some duplicate tech structures.
Then when they push out with a deathball / tank push I can base race, sack my main, and nydus transfer my drones to one of my many back up mains on the far side of the map.
Then while they walk over to my new main I rebuild my old main and whittle away their deathball with chain fungals.
I think my hands and brain would just catch on fire if I did this idea justice in-game, though.

I made a game! Hotline Maui. Requires mouse and keyboard.

i have seen spanishiwa do exactly that. re-made tech at other bases just in case, uses nydus to transfer his drones.
No I think you're right. Painuser is LGPainuser and I know for a fact he's on Lazarus Gaming.

Totalbiscuit is amazingly good at casting, especially explaining SC terms and strategies to people who might not play SC2 a lot.
yeah i am getting more and more impressed by him every game he's casting in mlg; sounds like he's putting a real effort into improving his game knowledge as well
he has incentive between this and mlg probably picking him up (sundance contacted him over twitter)
Yeah he actually makes good calls, I didn't notice that from him before. He explains things in very simple terms so people can understand the strategies behind what is happening.
I just got destroyed by ultras. They just wreck blink stalkers so hardcore it's not even funny.
Thanks for the stream, quality was fine.
I'd prefer if you could use a headset to explain your thought process while you play though.
Thanks again for the stream great to see high level players, would watch again.
(I was telling people why they're wrong on IRC when you finished up. )

Woah now, high level is hardly me .
I actually have a headset, I simply don't have all that much of a thought process going, which honestly is the biggest thing I should be working on. Should try it sometime I guess, might help me with having a more concrete gameplan :P.

Ah, you're not bad though, when it comes to us shit gold level players at least,
as for thought process I mean:
"I'm making blink stalkers instead of colossus because I think x."
"I'm not going to expand because of x."
"I have a contain but he has colossus so I'm done" sortof thing.
Would watch again anyway, I don't understand Protoss play at all.

Comes down to perspective I guess, I do have the habit of being a bit hard on myself .
Hopefully I can get some motivation to ladder again and actually improve at this game, it's just that there is so much SC2 to watch instead, and combined with other games certainly gets in the way :P.
Yeah, so, if you think forcefields are broken, I hope you weren't watching the first game of Minigun vs Machine. It will do bad things to your blood pressure.

I love protoss but they need to make it so forcefields can not land on ramps.
Uh, yeah, no.
I know offensively placing forcefields on ramps sucks but Protoss needs to be able to defensively do it or they just straight up die to a roach rush or a lot of other things Terran and Zerg can do.
Haha I like them a lot, but being able to cut off reinforcements against zerg is a little bit over the top I think. The only difference is it forces two forcefields to block it completely, so either you run out of energy quicker or you spend more resources on sentries, which do much less damage.

which again, means that a lot of Zerg roach all-ins will just be completely unstoppable.
Perhaps they won't be, perhaps the generic opener for Protoss will completely change, but I don't see how it could.
yeah forcefield i think is actually a badly designed spell
it is essential to early survival against a lot of allins and such, but offensively it isnt fair in a lot of positions (most notably in 5 and 6 gate timing attacks against z)
don't know how to change it at this point, like i said its kind of a necessary evil given how protoss needs that ramp defense

Deadly, thanks zen!
an opportunity cost between warp gates and gateways is exactly the kind of thing that promotes good decision making and higher skill differentiation

For some reason I especially wanna do that on Tal'Darim, it just seems so perfect for it.
i just want to try it for some shenanigans
also it sounds interesting
So good.

Yeah I didn't understand that.
He caught Agh out of position a couple times though, didn't even look close at the end.
yeah I love TBs casting

The entire race is designed around these two things, changing any of them is extremely hard.
