I guess I'm impressed that she had the wherewithal to pull it off, but I also think it was socially irresponsible and not especially meaningful. It's one thing to trick a school, a'la Drew Barrymore in Never Been Kissed, but she shouldn't have misled her own siblings. The connection between family is just too intimate and emotionally charged to manipulate like that, especially when you're willing to grant an exemption to your dumb boyfriend.
Furthermore, while ripping off a fake belly is fine spectacle, I'm not sure that proving you faked a pregnancy dispels any stereotypes. You shatter stereotypes by defying them as a true pregnant woman, not by attracting stereotypes as a woman who isn't actually pregnant. In the latter case, the only thing you change is people's perception of you, as there's no reason to think their inaccurate judgments wouldn't apply to an actual teenage mother.
Lastly, I'm sure anything she wrote down could've been recorded by any actual pregnant girl in the public school system.
Man, Xander is really kind of a douchebag in Buffy when it comes down to it.
You take that back.
You take it back now.
Season 1 to 3 he basically wants to murder the fuck out of someone because he's jealous of Buffy being with them.
Also a guy from the Rand corporation wrote an entire dissertation comparing American military policy to the Scooby gang's approach to dealing with problems.
Vampires killed his best (male) friend, so it makes sense that he distrusts one. Furthermore, the whole "tragic love story between a vampire and a slayer" wouldn't work if there weren't several valid reasons that the relationship was a bad idea.
I'm not saying that Xander wasn't jealous and immature, of course. I'm just saying that there was more to him than that, and that even his less admirable moments were rooted in the noble (if misguided and somewhat sexist) desire to protect Buffy from harm.

To be fair, Angel is a vampire. And he does go evil. Still, even with s1-3, he's a pretty good guy. I mean, it's not 'til season 6 that he does the worst thing... I'm gonna stop now, though. I don't know if you've gone through the whole series yet or not.

So I had a gig last night. 300 people expected. Pretty big deal. I had prepped and prepped for this show and nothing was going to go wrong. We stroll up to soundcheck late, which pissed me off because I wanted everything to be perfect, and the club is already pissed at us. I'm setting up and having some trouble connecting my soundcard interface to my DAW. I'm fidgeting around and getting a little worried, as the soundcheck guy mics in "synths and computer please?" "yeah gimme a minute, go to bass." I started panicking, because I couldn't figure out what was going on. I swap out laptops, figuring something must be wrong on the laptop's end (luckily I prepped a backup laptop.) The club is a real rock type club, so the sound guy is getting pissed and clikcing his tongue in a tick-tock manner. I'm getting more frustrated than I had been in my whole life. And then the backup computer didn't connect to the interface and I realized -- for both computers, the interface should have switched its sampling rate from 48kHz to 44.1kHz. It didn't; my interface was fried; I was fucked.
I spent the next few hours running around like a madman trying to find a friend with a MOTU 828 mk I D/A A/D interface. It was the most frustrating and embarrassing experience of my life. I had the potential of having to tell 300 fans we couldn't perform. I thought about running away from everything.
Luckily I was able to find a new one and we tested and retested and retested to make sure that EVERYTHING would work. But I still strolled up on stage not knowing whether or not I would have sound in the house! Thank god everythign worked, and the show went on without a hitch.
THAT, my friends, is what being a musician is like. I wasn't even "happy" after the gig. It was like all this stress was just melting off me, as people kept coming up and stealing all my free booze :P
i wouldn't put the chicken fingers ep in the same category as modern warfare
modern warfare felt like a sitcom equivalent of something like the simpon's tree house of horror
it was a 'special episode'
the chicken fingers ep was probably my favourite episode of season 1, up there with the buddy cop and christmas eps. favourite season 1 moment is still the presentation at the end of episode 2.

I KEEP LOSING EVERYTHING I DO TODAY MY GOODNESS
off day. how annoying.
I know I wouldn't be at my keyboard when it happened.
I probably ought to put something together in case it does at some point though...
sometimes
there are some sympathetic eps though
says the jailed person
credibility: zero
that is just so weird to me. i mean, i know beginner pottery is a bit sillier and zanier than other eps but...not that much so!

The Big Lebowski
"This isn't Nam, there are rules" is part of what Walter shouts as part of that whole "foot was over the line, mark it zero" scene.
oh this
yeah, haven't seen this movie in years, and just once. it was okay.
But I lurk moreso than post so I'm think I'm fairly safe as far as not being assigned to make one
probably not my favorite, though

That said, I though he was really unfair to Anya.
