SPACE MARINE - In the grim darkness of the future, there are only BIG MEN
Posts
I believe I've seen a chaos titan with a buzz saw too
And its not even the biggest Titan.
There was a battle in "Titanicus" (fantastic book!) were a Chaos Reaver ripped an imperial titan apart after ambushing it from behind a building with its power fist.
Oh how I love thee 40k.
1. It will never happen.
2. That would be so sweet. Chaos Gate did a lot of stuff right, and the atmosphere was one of them. The Gothic choral music was so awesome. I mean, check this stuff out:

I am really looking forward to Space Marine though, I am glad that cover isn't a big thing since I always imagine Space Marines just running around and stomping peoples face is in while taking little damage. I am currently waiting for DoW2: Retribution to go on sale and all this WH40K has gotten me wanting to play the table top again.
What is the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something remarkable? ~ Mario Novak
I never fear death or dyin', I only fear never trying.
I mean look at this ridiculous stuff:
It deserves to be in a game somehow
Space combat + squads + roleplaying + exploration, trade and empire-building
I would say titan melee weapons are meant more for bunker busting type deals.
"Oh hai, that's a nice wall/bunker you have there, mind if I stick my drill in it?"
I dunno, the guys making Space Marine made Homeworld... soooo ya know.
I'm sure there's more than one dude at Relic going "Hmmmm."

edit: Also a 40k successor to Homeworld would probably end me.
While totally possible, titans can also be equipped with a Volcano Cannon. A cannon that does...well what it's name implies. It fires a round of super heated energy that is primarily meant to target huge objects and obliterate them with a single shot. Such targets usually include other Titan-sized opponents and minor hive cities.
Something that can be fired from miles away and rivals the weapons used my the space ships? Redefines bunker buster.
Although, the image of a Titan shoving his fist into a big bunker and wiggling his fingers around (vaporizing everything inside) makes me laugh.
I was sure they were going to make a Battlefleet Gothic game until they bought the Homeworld license.

That's pretty much what I have to say to this game.

Like, every iteration of the GW space marine franchise I can think of has had lightning claws. I somewhat doubt that they'd fail to include them in a game like this.

Point conceded :!!:

The atmosphere was really good, especially the first level in the trenches.
I still have my copy here because nobody ever wants to buy it.
And Disney World is nowhere in sight.

This lists all the weapons in the game from a press pamphlet. Doesn't look like lightning claws or power fists made it in sadly..
I never asked for this!
Because you'd disintegrate the ground you were attempting to walk on?

Thx
Probably still my favorite PA comic.
I'm... I'm not really seeing the problem here. Strap 'em onto an IG grunt, and airdrop the poor bastard onto a Hive Tyrant.

A better usage would be to be a comforter to the holy mechanical spirit in the targeting device for a 1000 lb bomb.

How are we to know that the planet's infrastructure didn't contribute to its fallen state? Purge the whole thing with fire, I say. Also, power feet.
Are you putting material desires before your undying faith to the Emperor? How dare you question what He wants? Those buildings and the infrastructure will crumble to dust if He wills it.
This is heresy I say. HERESY!
When the inquisition comes around, all be fucked
It's just a mess of horrible, painful things
As in they can destroy a planet if they need to to get the job done?
And Disney World is nowhere in sight.
Then when the ordeal is over, and what little remains of the landscape is a charred, ashen wasteland flowing with molten rock, radioactive dust and blasted by a bitter, freezing chill, they repeat the process again. And again. For months, scouring kilometers from the surface of the planet, turning the continents to rubble, levelling mountains and cliffs. The entire world a smooth, obsidian ball winking out of existence in the infinite blackness of space.
So yeah, not a good day to start dabbling in the dark arts, Mr Heretic.
