'My army can beat your army because.' 'NU-UH! My army would this.' 'NU-UH! etc' gets a bit tiresome.
They really seem to be going for the theme of Grey Knights being turned by their war against daemons into something almost as bad themselves.
They always were, to a point. Wiping out a regiment of Guard because they might have seen someone who said they knew someone who saw a daemon that one time in the old fluff wasn't exactly 'knights in shining armour'.
The direction they're taking also makes sense given the perspective It talks about them doing things that only they know, because everyone else is dead. And they're only alive because they did the terrible things they did. And while yes, it's terrible, they're also the ones holding back Chaos. They do what they need to do to accomplish that. Faith only gets you so far.
I always got the impression it was more to mean that these factions and forms of combat and massive and disparate tactics, ideologies, martial disciplines, and reproductive biologies can be galacticly competetive.

Isn't that pretty much the gist of the part on the back of the book?
Are the helmets even good for protection though? With the kind of weaponry in 40K I can't see a tiny helmet doing much difference in terms of protection
I mean look at the Dawn of War II intro. One Eldar casually puts a space bullet in between a helmeted space marines eyes like it aint no thing
Ask some Star Wars Storm troopers, they might know

I always viewed it like Star Wars myself as well. The armor is great protection from environmental hazards, shrapnel and glancing shots, and useless against direct hits.

...and when you are done with that; take a folding
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.

In fluff? or tabletop mechanics? or tabletop rpg mechanics? Be specific, man!
...in the tabletop rpg a helmet really helps. Stupid Space Wolves in my party always refuse to wear theirs.

No, you see, the elder is able to kill the space marine so easily BECAUSE he's wearing a helmet.

Pfft.
Everyone knows that your 90% more likely to die from an headshot if your wearing a helmet. Well known fact.
Helmets are the red shirts of space marine fiction everywhere.
Counterargument:
Doom Marine.
Also, they're changing the Grey Knights?
I always kinda assumed they did less horrible things because they were only called in once everyone who had the slightest chance of being moral was dead, the world was burning, and all life in the area was corrupted by chaos anyway, and they left the executing guardsmen bit to the regular inquisition.
Seems silly to have them do that when there's so few to go round.
Fun fact, the author had to educate a young lady on the proper etiquette of being a fan after she copied his characters from this sonic parody so she could let her character have sex with them in a furry game.
Space Marine MP is gonna surprise people. High fun factor, cool perks, chainswords, blotters, jump packs and more.
Obvious that he would say that it's going to be awesome, but I do look forward to seeing how jump packs are implemented in multi. Whether it's just effectively a fast means of getting to points, or whether there's some actual verticality to the level design there.
I suppose the former would be good enough as long as it looks cool. The latter would be awesome, but I'm not really expecting it.

Considering that jump packs never seem to be used as a tool to get to a vertical point, but instead to come crashing down from the sky with a mighty "FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU," I'm highly doubting there will be a vertical emphasis in the levels.
Oh the glory of spotting a sniper, and instead of finding that back door into the bird nest, you just jump into his face. This can be the awesomest thing ever.
Finally plonked down and preordered the game. I went with 360...mistake?
Well all anyone can tell you right now is it won't look nearly as good as the PC version. As for gameplay we'll have to wait and see. But it's not a move I'd have made...

Except for their helmets.

I've been waiting for this.

Ah, just looked it up. Yeah, that's a switch.
Why I fear the ocean.
Depends. If it's these guys then you're pretty much toast.

If Boss, Sev, Fixer, and Scorch had been there, whole war would have ended right then.
Of course, they mainly wear helmets for the cool built in windshield wipers.

Google 4chan Angry Marines. I know, I'm asking something terrible here.
I'm assuming the sound pack will have lots of angry swearing.

Consoles won't be going over 720p, every other factor involved aside.
I mean, all Arkham Asylum had on PC over the consoles was flags in the rafters, and that Physx stuff. Other than that, identical
Edit: THis sounds like a Console PC debate! Sorry! I was just wondering if there were side by side screens out yet.
