I'll turn as much of this game 8-Bit as they'll let me.
Ugh. One of the main reasons I'm excited about this is that they're not making a retro-looking game. Between MM9-10, and probably a few hundred indie titles at this point, I'd be happy if I didn't see the 8-bit art style in another modern game for a very very long time.
Retro is a very fun style with it's own unique charm. I'm glad it's become a thing.
The problem is everyone's doing it. Every week a new game comes out or gets announced with a totally retro NES style. It doesn't feel unique anymore. It doesn't feel fresh.
I don't really consider that a problem though, retro games are becoming a genre of their own. You ignore the bad stuff, the good games will always float to the top.
I look at stuff like Shovel Knight coming out and I'm still excited about the art style in that as I was when stuff like Mega Man 9 and Breath of Death VII started popping up.
I don't think it's something that should be shunned as outdated or just a cheaper way to manage your game's graphics budget. When it's well done, it works as well as any other type of game, I do think there are benefits in longevity to games made like this, they never really grow old in a way some of my favorite PS1 and N64 games horrifically have over the years.
Except Mischief Makers. Hot damn I love that game.
So it's a slow day at work and I was watching the ticker. It got about $2000 more over the course of a minute. If it keeps up at that rate until completion, it's another $360,000 which would just about hit the 4 million mark.
That's if it stays constant, but...damn.
*edit* actually, less than that because it's not a full 3 hours, but still.

I still get a huge ass smug look on my face when I mention I played Mega Man Universe at NYCC.
What's that booth operator? You didn't know you can jump down this hole and find a secret route in your test stage? DID I JUST BLOW YOUR MIND!?
I hope I did...
Oh, you did, really? What did you think of it? I heard that many people thought it didn't handle quite right.
I thought of it as a regular Mega Man game. I tested my dude out, made sure how far he can jump and how many lemons he can shoot as well as how fast they traveled and that was it.
The rest was jump 'n shoot man. Handled like how a Mega Man plays.
Since Arthur was suppose to be playable they gave me an inflatable lance with MMU Logo on it. I'd want Inafune to sign it one day.

Will this game become only the second Kickstarter game to reach $4 million? (The first was Torment.)
Live stream going on right now.
Totally doable

Remember guys: Megaman doesn't sell and no one wants another Megaman game. According to Capcom.
