What makes it so great?
Take your pick. The community. The expo hall. The panels. The Omegathon. The sheer number of people who come together to make the show work. The number of famous people who are willing to sit around and sign shit all day, while chatting with you about all sorts of asinine bullshit.

Are there going to be any sort of forum meetups during PAX?
Absolutely! PAX Prime tends to play host to a large amount of forum people during its three day run, and there will definitely be things to do with your fellow SE++ people. Details on meetups will probably start showing up about a month away from PAX, so keep an eye on the thread.
When will badges/schedules go out?
Badges get mailed out about two weeks before the show; if yours doesn't arrive, make sure you show up to PAX with the purchase confirmation that you should have printed when you bought your pass. The show schedule will go up on the main PAX site at about roughly the same time.
So what's there left to do until PAX?

Pax is an under 1000 bucks event unless you're flying in from another country and not splitting a room with anyone else.
also 1500 what is he getting a penthouse
that seems far more than he'd need to get there from FL
i see roundtrip flights on Southwest right now for like $500
less if you find a good flight
rooming with other people makes a hotel a lot less expensive than that
even less if someone is rad enough to let you stay with them for free
then all you have to worry about is food and drinks
To be fair, that's an old estimate; I just checked the PAX site's hotel reservations, and apparently the Paramount is out of rooms, so I'm going to have to reestimate that.
The flight, however, should still be good.

Anyway, the Paramount used to be the bulk of that, but since that's gone, odds are the price is going to go down.

I try to fly southwest when I can for cheap + reliable flights, even if you do have to sit with a person or two you don't know for a few hours.
The one time I flew american airlines my flight got delayed for six hours.
I talked to crwth earlier today, and he told me that he can't afford the badge on his own right now, which means we need to figure this shit out quick.
I'll keep looking into hotels and flights, but right now, what I need help with is figuring out how to properly set up a PayPal/Amazon/whatever account that will get crwth to Seattle, and how to use that to get the badge.
EDIT: And I'll edit the OP to get rid of the $1500 mark.

I am as well but with Tonkka and Captain Cthulhu both being out of their bands I don't know if we'll be so lucky.

So, until around the middle of next week. Being gone by the end of the month is almost assured, although you could find people willing to sell theirs after the sellout date. Getting those is either much harder or more expensive, depending if you do it on the forums (can't resell them for over face value here) or off-site.
Either way, should probably get them this week if you're going.
