Laptop battery plugged in not charging.

I seem to have run into some new computer troubles so I thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas.

The issue is essentially my laptop battery refuses to charge up. It doesn't get used up when plugged in and it runs off the power left on the battery when unplugged but I have no idea how to get it to actually recharge.

My laptop is a Dell running windows seven.

So far I've tried updating the BIOS and reinstalling the battery drivers.

If it stays at a certain percent, chances are it's mis-calibrated. To fix it, turn off the power protection stuff (the standby/hibernate when the battery gets to a certain level, automatic screen dimming, etc.), then unplug it and use it normally until it dies. Chances are it'll stay at 0% for quite a while, and when you start it back up it should charge to 100%.
