I played a match last night against Olorin's friend where I derped for the first 10 minutes of the game (forgot to get gas, lair, ling speed, etc). I derped even harder when my overlord spotted his 30 reapers but I wasn't looking. :?
The mass reaper assault was a wake up call, though, and I kicked into high gear and infested the world.
Edit: Not that I'm trying to make Olorin's friend look bad by saying I wasn't playing right in the beginning of the game, because he played pretty well otherwise considering the skill gap between us.

The point about other sports fans not using the 'well you're not a pro so you can't say anything or ask any questions' logic holds true, at least for the majority.

Discussing SC tactics is not the same as "Manning threw an awesome 40 yard pass!"
It's more like saying "Manning would be much better if he directed his offensive line into this formation"
Which WOULD ellicit a response like, "Ummm, I'd leave it to the pros, buddy."
Still, don't want to disagree with the crux of the piece, though.

Although at this point kas is just throwing money at hasu and winning, since hasu lets him kill all his probes repeatedly :P. Hoping the final series is better than this one.
I'm more annoyed that he's so obsessed with the Worker's Killed stat, yet almost never tells you what the actual worker counts are. That's kind of more important!

I dunno, it sounds like the author hasn't interacted with a lot of sports fans. They aren't exactly all sunshine and rainbows to each other.

Got knocked out by a very skilled protoss player.
Kas also realized that if you have 20 marauders with stim and a nexus is in range, there isn't much the protoss can do about it.
That's gotta hurt kedinik :P.

And the guy who beat me just knocked out a grandmaster with a 6-gate all-in followed by a void ray all in, he's legit 8-)
