I don't think Goody did any scouting at all other than the hellions to natural and the 4th and 5th bases. I would wager to say he had no idea brood lords where in the game until they were knocking at his front door.
How is his style abusive? He's just harass into mech, every game.
Also, I have yet to see an Olive Garden commercial. My region > Your region!
The harass and mech are both plays that should not be a problem unless someone cuts a corner in their build. It's not a response to anything, he just sits there and goes, I hope my opponent made a mistake somewhere. Mech also makes his terrible macro a non-issue.

I think its a wrong word choice, but Tanner is basically saying that its not a solid style of play, it requires your opponent to make certain mistakes that, regardless of how much your build forces those mistakes, is still a bad thing.
the mark of a good build is that it could work even if your opponent had full vision of your base at all times, and I don't think the way goody plays is like that.
Just ordered SC2 and have been attracted to playing either Terran or Zerg, best way to choose is to just jump into a few 1v1s? or better to get an idea by practising vs the computer first? Also playing from NZ, so are we stuck in the SEA server? Or can you select your region server no matter where you buy the game? cheers
He's such a horrible caster he even destroys the whole mood of games. "This is stupid." "He's an idiot"
It's like I'm reading comments from a youtube video when he casts.
Don't give me that bs he provides high level analytical commentary. Sure he does. He also sucks energy from other casters, judges everyones play, and becomes the epitome of what will stratify SC2 (and gaming in general) from the general populace: the elite internet crybaby.

SEA accounts get access to US as well for free.
And yeah best way to choose a race is just to play a couple games vs the computer as each race and see what clicks first.
Then from there go and look up a starting build order, practise it a couple times against the computer, and then hit 1v1s.
Feel free to post replays at any time in this thread, a lot of us are more than willing to go over a couple replays from a newbie and give some tips for immprovement.
For those who don't know, I'm basically posting two to three of my own matches per day with my own analysis on them, and then putting it out there for everyone else to also read and critique. Feedback would be great.

Cheers Dhal,
Been lurking here for ages and watching nasl/ipl and jtv streams so hopefully it'll help some that i have exposure to sc2 and the motivation to play. Will definitely post some replays and hopefully find some Pa'ers to play and get some tips.
My experience with Skype is that it's not that good with a lot of people.

Say what you want about IdrA's energy level, but he and Gretorp bitching back and forth at each other about bunkers versus spine crawlers is hilarious.
You have to add people to call them, there's no channel idling or anything for hanging out, and last time I checked it wasn't as low latency or bandwidth lite as mumble.
I like how every week NASL has some new little thing. First couple weeks it was just getting things under control, like fixing audio quality. Then it was background/gg music. This week it's the game countdown timer. What's next!

Still not seeing abusive in that.

Any player who does one style every game isn't great.
I don't understand how he wins at all. Everyone should just be blind countering him.

Some of his micro is just absurd.
gretorp "and his team, team liquid, is on an upswing recently!"
idra "really?"

I do have a small mumble we can use. It's only ten spots atm, but if it gets super popular I have no issue ponying up for a few more.
