Regarding the current PA server, two questions: Have we found the Stronghold yet? And did someone setup a nether wart farm? I believe it's all been mined out from the nether (at least my trip there found nothing) and was hoping to find a farm to nab some seeds from to start my own for brewing.
I have a netherwart farm in my brewery. I can set you up with most of what you will need to get your brewing operation goin' (although I am hurting for blazerods, goo balls, and spider eyes)
I've already got a brewery stand built and farmed some blaze rods for someone earlier today. I just need the wart really to get that under control.
Well, I have left a stack of netherwart in the ??? Chest in the original jungle tower for you to grab whenever you are around.
I found a stronghold with an intact End Portal, but I don't think anyone has made an effort to activate it. We have a few pearls on the server, but they need to be turned into eyes.
@Lost I have a poopton of goo balls that I doubt I'll ever use. I'll toss you a stack the next time I see you on. I have a couple spider eyes, too.
A really good place to farm slimes is out around Lost Village. Come morning, there are usually a few giant slimes banging against the fences on the swamp side.
Edit: Oh, and there's a spider dungeon that intersects the Stronghold for manual spider eye farming. Pain to get out to, though.
Huh, the magic pack of FTB has Forestry in it for some reason. I only take offense to this because I tore it out completely in the default pack and the pack was made with a bunch of dependencies on it which I had to fix, like ore spawning. Now I gotta do that in a pack that shouldn't have it anyway. Blerg.
I took half a stack of nether wart (someone else wanted some) from the Jungle tower, if that was your place. I left you about 8 blaze rods since you mentioned you were short on them and I thought of farming them a bit.
Ok folks, canal is open between the southern sea and lost village. Don't need to go through JungleTown now. Entrance is west of the ocean rail between the frozen biome and the jungle biome. Follow the lit posts and it will take you out just south east of Lost Village.
Who offered glass? I can't remember and I closed my browser and lost the log from when it was mentioned. I'd love to use it if possible. Is there anything you need in trade?
I reached the top with my tower! Woo! Got a glass ceiling on there too. Now I'm trying to work on a grand staircase for the first two levels and I'm not liking it. Not sure how to fix it yet though but I'll brainstorm tomorrow about it. If anyone has suggestions feel free to let me know.

Wondering if you guys could help me with a server issue I'm having. I've been running a server off my PC for a few friends of mine. Hopped on today and realized my PC had restarted itself at some point (power flicker or something, probably.) We seem to have lost ALL of our progress from the past day and a half or so. This sucks, a lot. We did a ton in that time. Doesn't Minecraft autosave while the server is running? Is there any way to recover all of this lost progress?

I know when I was running a server using CraftBukkit it offered an "auto-save" feature. I'm assuming Minecraft doesn't always write the world data to disk or because the file is open when it shut down it may have lost some of it? And the auto-save makes sure it's written to disk periodically?
So... if I'm someone who's into games where I can just explore the world and stuff, this would be a good buy, yeah?
I've somehow managed to go this far without giving Minecraft to thorough of a glance.

The world is effectively infinite, but it's still more of a building sandbox than adventure game at the moment. You can use mods like Twilight Forest or Divine RPG to make it more adventureyey(y).
Still tremendous fun.
Still, if adventure's what you're into, maybe cubeworld will be more up your alley. Not that it's out yet... looks fucking incredible though.
Edit: Because the game needs to be seen in action to truly appreciate that "incredible" moniker.
Already Minecraft has it's subtle sounds burned into my memory for all time, there is no way I could play a game as much and have that PLOPLOPLOPLOPLOP stuck in there
Welp I bought it anyway. I'm gonna go punch trees and shit.

I am quite enjoying being a tourist on this server. The continual progress on Sky Plaza is amazing and I had a good time exploring Aegis' contraption-filled palace and his swamp.

I need to get a shit-load of wood, head out to the middle of the snow biom and make another crazy cabin (with lots of writing on the walls).

This might sound like a weird question, but I'll give it a shot. I'm looking for the cape used by the Society of Argentifex during [email protected] S2, the little blue scarfy thing. Would anyone happen to have the file for it lying around somewhere?

Lucky for you we don't usually delete stuff on the forums, we just hide it so no one but admins can see them. I got you covered:
Made by Mojojoe (or at least he was the one who posted it).
It was either the fact we built there after claiming we were going to build on practically everyone else's doorstep (and it then took ages for anyone to find us to exact their revenge/blood price/whatever) or that we decided to grow a lush forest in the middle of a lovingly-sculpted blasted wasteland with scant regard for how much effort it took to build.
Getting the grass there took forever. I think we dug a tunnel.
It was because it's ugly as shit. It's just a great big black box on a bland green swath.
Plant some fucking trees.
There were trees! I know because I planted them. I guess they got removed by someone with a grudge. There were certainly plenty of candidates after all...
It was also function over form. With everyone out for our blood from day one, we figured that two layers of obsidian and five of lava might barely be enough to protect the absolutely nothing we were hiding in there, instead drawing attention away from our super-secret stash which, unless I am mistaken, was never discovered...
@Dedwrekka had a cool underground base going on underneath The Cube though, possibly because he had all our shares of natural design talent...

I couldn't say anything for sure though.
And now I have no motivation to finish my tower :P

Just so you know, I hated you guys for this:
That was the only reason we did it!
I'm actually serious. We picked our actions based solely on how much we could irritate everyone else!

Regarding design, I think I've said enough already.
