Senior Experience

My high school has this program called "senior experience", in which my class spends 3 weeks in the end of may working in an industry that interested us. I've always wanted to work in game design, but I've had little success finding a company to intern at. Anyone have a suggestion for a company that would take a high school intern, or if that is'nt possible (something I've accepted as a reasonable probability), a related field to investigate such as digital art or programing that I should look into. I should also mention that I live near Cleveland (our chief export is unemployment), so this may be a difficult task without going out of state. Any suggestions appreciated.

We don't know where you are, and as such don't know what game companies exist near you. I recommend asking a teacher, since they do know where you live.

Chances are you're not going to find very much in the way of game development in Cleveland. From what I understand you pretty much have to live on the west coast to find anything of that variety.

This sort of thing is generally of use and designed for people going into a trade, especially in a smallish town. 'Get to know your oil-changer 'cuz he's gonna be your new boss' type stuff. Of very little use for young burgeoning professionals. I would recommend picking the trade that suits you best as a 'second choice' and giving that a shot. With any luck it will suck so much ass you'll work twice as hard in post-secondary.

I did a week in an accountants.

Put me off doing anything maths related. So that was successful.
