Didn't see it mentioned on the last couple pages so, questions...
Does this up the level cap again? And what level is it targeted to? Do you have to be at a certain story point to do it or can you just go?
I already bought it, I just havent had time to load up my 360.
I did it starting at 15 and I seemed a little over-leveled for it. I'm not exactly built for a standup fight, so the last bit got rough.
The level cap goes up 5 more and there are some new perks.
Are they as heavily armed at that level as they are at 30? These "savages" had some pretty impressive gear: Riot Guns, Anti-Materiel Rifles, Brush Guns. I was kind of surprised how hard they were capable of hitting.

I started seeing Brush Guns toward the end, but most of the way it was cowboy repeaters, hunting rifles and .45 SMGs.
Still, for light armored snipey chick, the whole sudden spawning thing kicked my ass.
Also, at level 34 going into the dlc, the enemy tribals are rather impressively armed indeed. Still no match for my Baby.
I swear, the perk that makes weird shit happen is the best perk in the game. I am working through the main story now and I haven't found too many of them, and some of them take a second to figure out, but honestly its worth losing out gameplay perks just for that 'spooky music' and the dumbfounded vault boy.
I have to say, I held off on getting this game for quite a while, since I'd heard a lot of negative press about the bugs. I wish I had gotten it sooner. Overall I feel the story is more engrossing than FO3, and the world is much more coherent since it isn't boxed up into so many dense urban zones. The game just feels better in the wastes anyhow.
It occurs to me that I don't think I've ever actually used a Marksman or Assault Carbine. At all. Ever.
I should fix that.
The Assault Carbine uses 5mm ammo which just got changed in the last patch to have 10 DT bypass by default. Armor Piercing has 25. It's incredibly strong now. I've never used a plain Marksman Carbine but the unique, All-American, is a lot of fun. Really fast fire rate and one of the lowest AP costs in the game (I can queue up 8 shots in VATS).

All American was one of my favorite "small game" guns. Fast fire rate, accurate and ammo was easy to find, too bad about the damage. (I don't have XBL account so I play the game without fixes :P)
I read on the Fallout Wikia that Honest Hearts also raises the level cap by 5. It does not say if that means like Dead Money raised form 30 to 35 or if it means and additional 5 which would be 35 to 40 if you had Dead Money.
Is is a case of and DLC raises the cap by five and that its or do the caps stack so if you get 2 DLC it raises the cap from the main game by 10

Of course, if you can't play it right now that's probably not much consolation.
I have officially decided to start a merc grunt run tomorrow after class. The .45 SMG calls to me like a siren. That spits hot metal death.
I'll just have to suck it up and play it with keyboard and mouse instead (I know, I know, the superior setup, but I played FO3 on Xbox and the desire to play with a controller stuck)
I haven't played New Vegas in a while. I'm getting back to it, and am partway through (level 12 & haven't made it into New Vegas yet). Does the DLC make any sense to get now, or is it all for after I've finished off the main game?
None of is is for after you have finished the main game. So many people complain about that but playing post game in New Vegas would be way harder to do than fallout 3. So man people and factions have variable endings would make post main storyline DLC either unmanageably complicated or make the endings meaningless. New Vegas does not need a Broken Steel
Yes you can get the DLCs now, you are probly best set up to enjoy them having a new character about mid-level.
To those of you who have contemplated buying this DLC and have not yet done so:
WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? BUY THIS NOW!
I love everything about this DLC; the questline, the characters, the exploration, the setting. I don't want to give anything away, but I found the side story for this DLC to be some of the most compelling storytelling that Obsidian has done in New Vegas. I've spent hours now just traversing the map in search of more to read.
Opening was a wee bit confusing. Took a couple quest failure notices to figure out I was hitting the wrong guy. Still, it looks promising so far, and I'm looking forward to getting out and exploring.
Just wrapped up Honest Hearts. I thought the main quest was a bit on the short side, but other than that I quite enjoyed it. Gonna jump back in soon and get some proper exploring done around Zion.
EDIT: Also, the .45 submachinegun is fucking rediculous. I like it.

Those terminals are wonderful and heartbreaking. Need to find the lest two.
Also: Supposedly some of the melee weapons in Honest Hearts are modable. Does anyone know which ones?
Also Also: The wiki says Josh has a .45 that has a melee damage rating. Frickin' A that would be awesome.
Yeah the war club can be modded to suck slightly less. Not really new; the bear trap fist could be modded in Dead Money.
Anyone know if there's any extra perks post-DLC like the one you get for talking to Veronica about Elijah? Hopefully it doesn't involve Caesar, as he's got a bad case of the deads in all of my saves.
Is there any reason to get the DLC if you're still playing through the main game?
I know there aren't any increases to level caps. Are there other fixes/patches/alterations to the main game or the game overall that would make the DLC useful even before being ready to play it?

At least they don't hang out in swarms. Not as far as I saw, anyway. A lone cazador - even a big one - isn't bad.
In other news, I was browsing the wiki and apparently
Joshua Graham has 50 DT. Jesus Christ. I'm pretty sure Remnants Armor, Sub-Dermal Armor, and two levels of Toughness only gets you up to 46.

Enjoyed the little bit I played last night, maybe an hour or two in.
Not looking forward to fighting a giant cadazor, took a few potshots at it with an anti material rifle and I think I saw its health move a few pips.
That find 3 sacred flowers quest, can go to hell. The whole sorrows area layout is a jumblemuck.
Anyway to cure or turn off the melee poison attack a lot of the white legs use?
I tried the animal poison curing one and it didn't do jack. The effect itself actually makes me nauseous so I have to look away from the monitor until it runs out.
Those flowers are everywhere. You can even buy them. As for the poison, use the Datura Antivenom a lot of the White Legs carry. I assume you can craft it too.

What seems to be the skill book situation in Honest Hearts? With skill points being in short(er) supply in New Vegas than the epic fuckton we got in Fallout 3, I want to try and maximize my toon's potential. An extra 3 to 4 points (depending on perks) in a skill can go a long way.

I'll probably play around with the weapons from the new DLC a bit first, though.

I'm nearly dead by the time I realize my health isn't full
If only he had some more 45-Auto ammo on him, 'cause this SMG looks niiiice.
