I'm not messing with entralink until after I have everything else sorted out.
There's no reason to bother waiting. Just jump in and do a couple of missions, and then go back to playing. It's not really the sort of thing that you have to "mess with".
Entralink is WAY better in 2 than in the originals, I'd say due to the Funfest Missions. Great for items and the powers.
Next step is to make such things globally available.

So picked up White 2 and it's sucking me back into the game. Found out about a challenge mode and keys that can only be obtained from other players? I just started but feel like I should hold off until I can get that hard mode option, since there will just be one shot at experiencing it(thanks Game Freak!). Any Seattle people want to meet up and exchange keys?

Not only that, but since there are no C-Gear seeds, it's easier to abuse the RNG to get Entralink pokés.

A seed is what decides what the RNG is going to make happen in the game. The RNG decides what IVs, natures, abilities, gender, criticals, etc. you get. It's possible to abuse it by changing the clock in order to predict what you're going to get, in order to obtain awesome stats.
You could just deliberately skip as many battles as possible?
I guess, though that would probably mean grinding wild pokes which is no fun. Hopefully there is some VS Seeker action or something later on. Just kinda sucks that Game Freak created a cool mode that no one can really use unless a friend finishes the game first. You would think that linking your past game would be a fair way of unlocking it instead of just the little memory segments.

It just took me way too long to find Team Plasma in the sewers.. I don't know how I missed them for so long, but I went back and forth from end to end at least 3 or 4 times. So many random battles.
On the plus side, my entire team right now is lvl18+.
Personally, I abuse each opportunity I have with a double-battle partner to level up my Pokemon. Instant, no-cost healing after each battle? Yes please.
I finished Japanese Black 2 and am starting on English Black 2, and may I say that Challenge Mode is hard? Sounds redundant, but that fight against Cheren was tough. I generally find that the games get easier as you go along, though, so I've feel that I have little to worry about from here on out, but I will definitely have to keep on my toes.

If you want flawless pokés, just ask. Among them are the free Dittos I advertise on y sig. Also, collect lots of rare candies from breeders in the stadium. They will fight you over and over if you leave and re-enter the area, and they give you Rare Candies, IIRC. You'll need them because there isn't autoleveling with a team of 6 pokémon like in Diamond and Pearl, and you have to fight using level 100 pokés.

Low level opponents are good for EV training. EVs are completely divorced from experience points, so low-level targets are easier to outspeed and one-shot with no downside.
That said, I think you only have a 20% chance of encountering something HP related at the ranch, which isn't worth doing. The only place I know for sure contains 100% HP pokemon is surfing at the Moor of Icirrus, which is postgame-only. You might be better off equipping the HP Power item and farming your other EV, depending on what stat that is (defense is also a pain, but I think less so than pre-Elite 4 HP; attack, special attack, special defense, and speed are all relatively easy).
