That honestly made me burp a little in horror because my stomach was already upset.

When I feel like nothing sounds remotely appetizing I usually just have something inoffensive like a bowl of cereal or a yogurt. You could do that. Or a cheese sandwich, which is my "cheer up" food.

What do you have in your fridge? Or did you already figure out a foodstuff to eat?

When my stomach is bothering me, the only things that makes me feel better are ginger ale and Saltines.

    Sometimes, Sprite works too.

    I usually just boil them

You should sear it in a pan or something to give a little flavor to the outside via caramelization. Browning it with a little bit of beer makes a big difference to bratwurst for one.

Man, I missed a lot in this thread.

People yelling about ranch. People yelling about ketchup (which I agree, doesn't belong on hot dogs OR steak, but if you like it, do what you've gotta do).

Made stuffed pork cutlets last night. Big 2 inch thick cut chop that got stuffed with smoked gouda, apple and spinach that was sauteed in bacon grease. Grilled that sucker up next to some corn on the cob and macaroni salad and yep...happy fourth of july.

This weekend up at the fauxin-law's place was a good food weekend as well. I do so love long island oysters and clams.

Sausage should have more than enough fat in it where cooking oil isn't necessary at all.

I would kill someone for some boudin right about now, or some jambalaya.

Is proper Cajun boudin even classified as a sausage? I think I remember someone telling me that it wasn't

if it's not brats, it gets sliced and browned in a pan, even before going into a sauce. brats get braised in beer and grilled, but that was never a question for dirty south attendees who've witnessed dan's BB&B.

man, boudin ain't that hard to make either. that shit is great, but fresh is the best.

Oh yeah, if I was near civilisation and could cook for myself, I'd make some up myself. Unfortunately it's not possible at the moment as I'm out in the middle of a desert working. I just got a craving for some.

I remember the first time I tried it, we bought some and I chucked it straight on the BBQ. Needless to say it didn't work out that well.

Why not? The only time I've had boudin, it was grilled. (And delicious)

I dunno, I guess I'm a dickhead then. Once I started boiling them a bit first before I grilled them they worked out much better. I normally grill my sausages without boiling them, boudin is an exception for me.
Fun fact: sausages are called snaggers in Australia! Use this knowledge to impress your friends!

I don't think i'll ever get into pineapple with meat. Tried it w ham and za multiple times and i have to be pretty baked to not pick it off. Which is weird cause i'm sure i enjoy other fruits with meat.

On another subject, has anyone ever had grilled Halloumi?

Haloumi is fantastic, one of my vegetarian mates introduced me to it.

I would also eat prawns grilled on the BBQ everyday, if given the chance.
