Hello everyone!
First off, if this is in the wrong section of the forums then I apologize for the mistake. I honestly can't see a better section to post this, or I'm just blind.
Anyway I have a small issue with remember the name of a video game from when I was younger that I have the urge to play again. As you can imagine this makes finding the game rather difficult.
- The game was a 2D first person shooter on the PC, it looked a lot like Doom or Strife.
- Set in a futuristic city. Rebels versus some sort of "evil corporation"
- You played as a sort of cyborg character with a red start icon on his forehead who in the intro broke out of what looked like a giant test tube.
- As far as weapons and mechanics go all I can remember for sure is that there was a currency system for buying ammo med-kits etc.
- The UI had a red health meter and a blue resource bar that both looked similar to a heart rate monitor.
- Some of the weapons were things like energy blasts and some strange colored pyramid type items.
At the moment that is everything that I can remember. Hopefully it's enough for someone to read this and know what game it is. Thanks for reading and helping me find the name.

This is it! Awesome thanks a ton!
It really is amazing how the most obscure tidbit of information can be enough to identify a game for the forumers here
Sometimes I'm tempted to find an obscure game, describe it as cryptically as possible, and see who can decipher it. Make it as hard as possible just to see if I can find a game that this forum can't identify, because in the six years I've been on this forum I've never seen a "Name that game" thread that wasn't solved on the first page.
I'm looking for the name of an arcade game from the early nineties. The play was top-down, Gauntlet-style, in mazelike levels. Weapons included guns and I'm pretty sure one was a flamethrower. Enemies were human cultists of some sort I think, and throughout the maze were bombs with timers you needed to defuse.
The thing I remember most clearly were the static images on the intro screen when no one was playing -- they included a scary bearded dude and a horned goat with a pentagram drawn on its head.
Anyone remember this game?
It was a really cool game and I looked for it for years afterwards but only ever saw it in one arcade. I always wondered if its creepy Satanic intro led to it being less popular in my neck of the woods outside Atlanta.

Did you actually remember the game or did you find it based on the description? I have to say the pic in the linked article looks way crappier than I remember it, but things certainly looked crappier in 1989.
