I think the heavy is fine. 1 on 1 a light generally stands no chance against a heavy of comparable ability. I hate playing as them but then I always hate playing slow characters. They make solid medics and engineers on defence objectives too.

If I didn't enjoy parkouring so much as the light class, I'd be playing heavy. The Chinzor can put the serious hurt on people when used effectively, and a pipped-up heavy medic is hard to put down, even with the Carb-9.

Ugh, I hate seeing a heavy medic. Because I know the resulting firefight will be like this:
1 - I empty a clip into them.
2 - Realizing I got the jump, they run around the corner
3 - I outflank/chase them around the corner.
4 - They have self buffed and are now at uber full health.
5 - I then empty two more clips into them while dancing and dodging like a madman.
6 - They finally go down.
7 - AND THEN they stand right back up after self-reviving.
8 - Repeat steps 1-6
Granted it doesn't always happen like that. And if I can get close one clip can avoid the whole process. But self-healing, self-reviving heavy medics create some nightmarish one on ones.

Reminds me of that dude with the minigun in Wolfenstein.
While I really like Brink's leveling system, the failing becomes glaring with a new character.
It's great to slowly introduce you to a class and its inner workings, but it's a pain in the ass to hop on a server and not have basic shit like Battle Hardened or various sprinting passives. Not to mention the lack of skills you have as a class.
Yes, you level quickly, but that requires leveling the server every time you want to assign points. It gets very old, and you're not going to see a lot of servers with a rank cap. I guess I should just play solo or co-op until I hit rank 2 or 3, but ugh.

That's pretty much the reason my Medic is Heavy. Sheer stubborn survivability. Light Medics definitely work by getting their heals where they're needed, but I prefer to be where I'm needed and never leave that spot.
I now have a code for the Psycho Pack! Where do I redeem it at to get the stuff?
You should be able to activate it with Steam, from the "Games" option in the file menu.
He plays on the PS3. Says so in his sig! (hah, this is the second time I have had to mention that to someone when they told him to use Steam for something)
Haha.
I am home from work and want to use my stuff, now that I finally have a code, but I still don't know what do with it.
there should be somewhere on the PS cross bar where you can redeem codes, on xbox it's fairly easy to find
have you never entered a preorder code before?

New Vegas and Red Dead Redemption were both done in-game. I think.
did they change lighting effects or something on som eof the maps with this new patch? i played shipyard (i think) and c city and it was impossible to see things.
not to mention i had all sorts of connection issues, but that might have been server side and not my problem
The only connection issue I've had was the one on the last page, which I'm pretty sure was just steam shitting itself. (Since only 30 servers showing as up at one time, just as I get told that I'm no longer online sounds enormously like a steam connection bug.)
Has 360 been patched yet? This came out of my 360 tray for a DVD at some point and never made it back in.
It was patched during the first day or two, and there were a couple of tweaks a few days later, but I don't know if the latest patch has made it to consoles yet.
Now that I think about it, here's an idea that would've been nice for Splash Damage to implement regarding SMART: As long as the SMART button is being held down, the player would be given the ability to see and plan "one move ahead" as they were looking at an object or surface that could be interacted with, possibly indicated by a faint glow or highlight around or along the object. For example, something that could be climbed or mantled would have a glow or something to that effect around the edge, or footprints/a trail along a wall that you can run across, visible while you're looking at (or in the direction of) the object. Think Mirror's Edge's "Runner's Vision", only not as obtrusive and optional if you prefer to pull off SMART moves manually. That might've helped players who were voicing concerns about SMART movements being "too awkward" to pull off.
Yeah, I have Brink on the brain and I'm just waiting for the 360 patch to arrive.

I was just coming in to ask if someoen had made the angry dome darker... because container city was a mix of blacks and dark browns. Kind of hard to figure out.

Hell, I'd take being able to switch between matches without having to disconnect from the server.
Such an asinine design decision.

it was running fine before this latest update for me. grr
Am I the only guy on these forums who bought this for ps3?
Considering it's a multiplayer game, and PSN was down when it came out...probably, yeah.
