I feel like I'm over Lady Gaga. Her style hasn't evolved at all and this new album bores me.

I swing wildly between extremes with her. I fucking loved the videos for Bad Romance, Paparazzi and Telephone. Born This Way slooowly grew on me and I loved Judas and Edge of Glory (for being mindless pop songs, she usually brings the meaning and depth in her videos)

And then the video for Born This Way was forgettable as hell, Judas's video was a mess, and 3/4ths of the interviews I read leave me either deeply embarrassed for her or wanting to shake her while screaming 'shut up! shut up! WHY WON'T YOU SHUT UP'

She needs to just go away for six months.

Mountains of cocaine led to one of her better songs (Beautiful Dirty Rich).

never in a harmful way, but I find it interesting and I always wonder what it will produce. Although I don't listen to lady gaga anyway I still sort of hope that's true.

    I am a terrible person.

League of legends. I picked Jarvan and a pub picked Vayne. Midway through the game, Vayne starts attacking the lizards to get the red buff and I walk on over to help take down their life bar. It was my intention to let Vayne have the last hit and gain the red buff but my Wriggle's Lantern automatically procced and, whoops, I stole red. "Why you take red?," Vayne whined. Mind racing, I replied with the first thought that popped into my head. "Because I am the man here. Welcome to the Patriarchy."

    I am a terrible person.

I don't think drugs make an artist more creative or imaginative, it just makes it easier/quicker for them to access their gifts.

A talentless person isn't going to improve their game any no matter what they snort.

The works of Bach haven't "evolved" in 260+ years but I can't claim to be bored of them. (or, to pick a more recent example, the works of Soundgarden).

Is it possible she was never really good to begin with, just sufficiently unusual to be momentarily eye catching?

    Osama.

Honestly, every time I've heard about Osama in the last couple of weeks I've been thinking, "At least I'm not hearing about Charlie fucking Sheen" but I haven't voiced that because bringing him up would defeat the purpose of not talking about him.

Speaking as a mentally ill person (mental illness and drugs are the Big Two things that people see as hallmarks of a great arteest)

Art is, no matter what, a fucking lot of hard work.

Marijuana and mania help me crank out first drafts. That's about it. Everything I produce is garbage, drunk or sober, medicated or in the heights of craziness. I need to sit, read, refine, edit. But a lot of artists, or at least writers at the amateur level, like to pretend this step doesn't exist. They like to think that they have true talent that means they don't have to work as hard.

99% of art is editing. This is part of why I think Gaga's second album is a lot more lackluster. I think she's surrounded herself with yes-men and she's too successful for execs to say no to. I think she desperately needs a harsh critique committee around her, to market her, and to filter all the shit she's throwing at the wall.
