~That guy playing Jerry didn't move. That was creepy as hell. Like he had some kind of bullet time going on and was just batting the balls aside like irritating insects while Jerry darted about the table like a man possessed.

That's pretty much the best tactic in ping pong (or tennis, or squash, or any related sport), as I understand it. Make your opponent dash about like crazy to tire him out and provide more openings.

@vgreminders - Don't miss out on timed events in gaming! @gamefacts - Totally and utterly true gaming facts on the regular!
Really well set up, with Brian's loss being mentioned early (their only one last time iirc) and his game being the next one, one they must win...
TENSION.
Oh and I need more of Jonty's tales of learning Ping Pong from wizened old farmers in Norfolk, being a fellow countryman I may seek out these masters to learn their secrets.
I'm in a minority here I bet (at least in my desire to state this) but I don't typically like "8 bit" style music or whatever you call it. However, the music in this episode was spot-on--really incredible. Made me re-think my assumptions and I'll be a lot more open-minded about it in the future.
I know this is something like the 5th ping pong episode so it's hard to find new angles, but I was a little disappointed that the vast majority of it was shots of a short rally followed by applause, it got kind of tiring.
The previous episodes managed to really get across the tension and the competitiveness whereas I felt it was lacking a bit in this one.
Overall I still enjoyed it though, plus pretty much any time Scott and Erika interact it's awesome.
I said it at the PAX East PATV panel, and I'll say it again. I love their ping pong episodes. The slo-mo is well used. The music is great. The tension.
I have no idea how the scoring in ping pong works nor what it means when they zoom in on the scoreboard (who is the higher number? what are those little numbers? do the numbers switch when they change sides?)
So, it may be tense conceptually but I really have no clue what's going on until the end of the match and they say who won.
First to 11 points wins the current game. If both players are at 10 points or more, you need to pull ahead by two points to win. (12-10, 19-17, etc.). The large numbers show the score of the current game.
First to three (aka best of five) games wins the pairing. (The little numbers represent how many games a person has won in that match.)

That should be 19-17. Don't confuse the poor lad with your typos! :P
Also, I'm just pulling this out of my ass, but I'd assume the numbers don't switch when the players swap table sides (which I believe happens after each game in the match). Would be kinda awkward.

Also, more slow-motion ping-pong plz.
DAMN.

Anyway, excellent episode, as always.
Music is always great, but it was particularly aces this time around.

Kiko is like "I'mma wreck some bitches."
When I worked at SCHARP in Seattle almost all of us used it. Had some amazingly good players. No matches with the PA crew, though.

I'll have to look again.
e: I stand corrected.
Khoo's hands move so fast it's hard to see.

God, the slow motion parts of David's match were hilarious.
