This according to Oberto which has come out with a new snack. "What is this new snack?" you ask with innocent curiosity. Sadly, I'm afraid this revolution is a no-go. You see, Oberto has inexplicably decided that we want meat chips:
Now, I'm pretty open minded when it comes to food so I confess that when I saw these in the market, I was both repelled and intrigued at the same time. On the one hand, crispy meat. Note that we're not talking about a thin, crisp coating around a tender, juicy morsel of flesh but rather a thin, entirely crispy wafer of meat. On the other hand, maybe it's better than it sounds. So I bought a bag.
Ok, first impression upon placing one of these wafer thin meat chips in my mouth is that the flavor is essentially jerky-like but perhaps a bit more concentrated. Not a bad flavor though. I actually enjoy the flavor of the meat chip as I place it on my tongue. Then I start chewing. The sensation of crunchy meat is a bit odd but the flavor is still quite good. I keep chewing through and once I've reduced most of the chip to a paste, I swallow.
Here's where the concept fails. After chewing up and swallowing most of the chip, I'm left with little, kind of gritty meat fragments in my mouth that are small enough that I can't really chew them anymore but aren't easy to swallow unless you chase it with a beverage. So, not bad at first but by the time I've eaten a few I'm really not too happy about the leathery, now flavorless meat fragments overstaying their welcome in my mouth.
In short, I would not buy this product again and I pass this on as a warning. You may find you like these and if so, knock yourself out. However I suspect this snacking revolution is doomed to failure and within a year, it will be pulled from shelves everywhere. Then a decade later, old bags of jerky crisps will be selling on e-bay for $30/bag.

I failed to notice there was a second page.
My art teacher got a green bag of these from a senior when he graduated. He really likes to show them off in class. I might go try for a pic of it sometime if you want to see it.
