no, definitely, but i was just discussing it with my roommate a couple days ago. i really hadn't heard one way or the other, but i've kind of been trying to avoid too much cap information.
edit-
it does make me curious how much effort they're going to go to as far as an explanation, goes, though. are they going to get into the whole infinity formula thing, even briefly?

I've seen it, and I can confirm something about the spoiler on this page.
Nick Fury only shows up at the tail end, after SHIELD has found and thawed out Steve in the present day. Roger is referring to the character of Nick Fury in general, not specifically to how he's portrayed in the movie.
Also, this is probably the best Marvel Studios film to date.
Nick's cameo is purely present day. Also, stay till the end credits. Every other post credit scene pales in comparison.
Ebert's review explicitly calls Nick Fury a WWII hero. So unless you've already seen it, which is possible, I'm trusting him.
seen it, there is a black guy in the Howling commandos but the only reason to say its nick is because he's black so...
Edit-Wiki confirms that that guy was Gabrial Jones
Incredible Hulk had the least. Zero right up until the end.
Actually it has a bit of shared universe stuff.
-The open credits flashes stuff about SHIELD, Nick Fury, and acquiring a couple of Sonic weapons from Stark Industries.
-The gamma research project was actually a modern day offshoot of the WWII super soldier program.
-The super soldier serum they give Blonsky is a variant of the one Captain America got (Probably an earlier version which would explain why it's a bit wonky.). It's pulled out of a cryo-thingy with Stark Industries written on it and mentions Dr. Reinstien (Which, IIRC, is an alias of Dr. Eirnstien, the guy who made the super solider serum.)
-Later they use the SHIELD database to track down where Banner was heading.
I think that's everything. Besides the Stark cameo at the end.

That all sorta boils down to "SHIELD is in this picture" though. Look in truth I'm just kinda sick of people bitching about the Avenger movie. Hollywood tries something dangerous for once and everyone has a criticism because the movies arn't perfect. But you know what even the worst of the lot is better than? Like 90% of the last 2 decades attempts at making superhero movies. Off the top of my head all of them are better than-
Batman 1-4
Superman 1 and 3-5
Ghost Rider
daredevil
Spiderman 1 and 3
X-men 1 and 3
All previous Captain America movies
The Hulk
Green Lantern
Wolverine Origins
etc...
Watching the Marvel Studio movies I can tell this group is trying very hard and putting a lot of effort into things Fox and Sony wouldn't have given a crap about. While making solid movies they are doing something that no one has every tried before. Its not perfect but its a series of good pictures, a mainstream film trying something creative and A freaking Avengers movie!
Iron Man 2 is, IMO, the weakest of the released Avengers movies. It's a little haphazard and I feel like it gets bogged down with the avenger initiative stuff more than the other films. Still, it has guys in robot suits fighting and Tony Stark being a smarmy jackass, so it isn't that bad.

Plus it had to take a story about Tony having a drinking problem and turn it into "Tony is dying of McGuffinitis". Plus that aweful Black Widow fight scene.

Iron Man 1 is so much better than Iron Man 2. IM2 is still a fun movie, though.

honestly, with my admittedly terrible track record of preferring the lesser-regarded films in franchises (ocean's 12 is easily my favorite of those movies, for instance), i've been expecting to like it MORE than the first one. i hope not to be proven wrong.
Somebody asked them that at last years Comic-Con, Snuggles. They pretty much said Fox has the movie rights to Wolverine so it ain't going to happen.
Man, that's bull. They could have done the cameo exactly like in the cartoon without pissing off Fox. Goddamn licensing keeping us from having one coherent universe.
Cap was the best Superhero movie of the year so far, one of the best of the last five years (alongside Iron Man I and TDK). Additionally, it's my favorite heartfelt, balls out action/adventure movie since Speed Racer. Speed Racer was just full of incredible, epic moments that made me all tingly in the theater, and Cap is the only film I can even think of that has done the same for me.
If I get the writing done this weekend that is already overdue, I believe I will treat myself to see Captain America. That said, I do not look forward to how much it will cost.

I'm pretty sure they would. They can do it as much as they want in animation since they own all the animation rights (TV anyways) to all their characters.

I hope that picks up. Thor was around that range too, and while Thor was indeed good, it also felt safe.
I want people cheering "America: Fuck Yeah!" by the end of this movie.
Also, I'm really hoping they replicate the following cameo into the movie:
Seriously, that would be awesome.

Though I may have watched Iron Man 1,2 and Incredible Hulk one too many times.. I may have to lay off watching them for awhile.

And he would make great Paladin, if we're still on "who should play characters that'll never be in a film"
I like it more than Iron Man
it is so good
like, imagine a great fun superhero origin movie
and then make it have sex with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
that is Captain America
Don't miss it, guys. It's amazing.
sooooooo excited
