I'm completely new to this. What is a pen and paper game?
You and a bunch of freinds sit around a table with a bunch of dice and character sheets. PNP has the advantage of being much more imaginative and interactive (you aren't limited by a physics engine but rather by your imagination).
Flip side is, without a decent group of players things don't work at all.
At first I was wanting a Map, but then my old age kicked in and I remember hand written maps I had drawn years ago when playing games before every game had a map feature and I was actually happy. It makes me remember locations and draws me in just that little bit more. Granted, when I want to do something quickly and have no clue where I'm going, I get miffed, but overall, it's all good.
Yeah I'm getting used to the lack of a map function. I do a lot of wandering about lost though.

I only really need to see a map once or twice if its mostly a linear street.
I spent a lot of the time wandering through the same routes until I worked out what the shortcuts are. There are lots of recognisable landmarks on the streets.
Just wander. It's fun. There's something in ever corner.
I get horribly lost in the sewers though. Every time.
Morninglord on
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
So I have a question. How do I beat the boss who is at the bottom of the mansion in Hollywood. I'm gangrel but have put most of my points in non combat shit because I hate missing dialog options. I wish I could take back my last two points in hacking now.

You've gotta put, like, half your points into combat or you'll be in BIG trouble at the endgame (especially if you're having issues now). My one complaint about the game is that is doesn't have Fallout-esque "talk your way out of EVERYTHING".

Guns, claws, or the sledgehammer. Blood packs when you're low on health. Also, crouch walking will cause his little minions' attacks to miss a lot of the time.
So, I installed in on steam and ran the patch 7.9... now it says "Application error: Failed to find Steam." whenever I try to run it. I verified the integrity of the game on steam and it found 115mb of files that needed to be re-downloaded(probably because they were patched) and tried again... same error.
Do I need to delete and re-install the game from scratch now?
I re-started steam as admin(usually do, but double checked) and set the exe for the game to run as admin and in XP SP2 compatibility mode. Still got the error. SO, I disabled UAC and it worked! Re-patched it and going to give it a go now
Thanks for the help.
I know the Ocean House gets all the love for being terrifying, but damn
those creatures from the snuff film at the porn studio? I only jumped twice during the Ocean House mission but four or five times between the film studio and the house made out of flesh. I hated those fuckers.
Also just beat this for the first time after buying it like three years ago. My only hope now is with the runaway success of True Blood and Deus Ex: Human Revolution we'll get a sequel/spiritual successor, because it's either that or I develop a drinking problem.

Our best bet is probably the WoD MMO, though how similar that'll be to this is anyone's guess.
They let a bunch of the staff go I think, focusing only on their FPS game set in the EVE world.
They've said they're still going to do it, but I'm pretty sure that's on the level of "Well Starcraft: Ghost isn't canceled..."
It's kinda sad, I think the ttrpg division that was formely white wolf has like, 3 full time employees now. Everything else is done by freelancers.

Yeah, someone let me borrow a pre-CCP WW Mage(OWoD) book, and the production values were through the roof. They definitely lost something when CCP took over.

I think all of their stuff is POD or transitioning to POD now, which I assume limits some production values. That said I like the ruleset and most of the background of nWoD a lot better then oWoD

Oh yeah, me too. But it doesn't seem like they have the same artwork budget. My favorite NWoD game, Mage: The Awakening, is mostly line art.
I cant get steam not not patch overtop of the fan patch every couple of days. This ruined my save games twice. I'm tired of starting from scratch. Even right clicking and clicking "do not update this game" in steam, it still updates it anyways automatically and corrupts all my saves every time it does it.

Yeah, every so often Steam does this to old games. Doubly so with old games that are modded. I got around it by nabbing a copy of the game, used, for $7 on eBay including shipping a while back.

Go in to the game directory and set everything to read-only? Just a though, no idea if it'll actually work.

The funny thing about that is that it is so little against the horror of the actual pen-and-paper game.

Did anyone else experience this bug?

I'm running 7.7 plus patch. Trying to report it on their boards but I'm having trouble registering.

In case, you know, you still haven't played it for some crazy reason.

Damn shame, if this is any indication of what CCP can do:
They've said they're still going to do it, but I'm pretty sure that's on the level of "Well Starcraft: Ghost isn't canceled..."
Ascension had some gorgeous shaded artwork.
After Dust 514 ships they will be able to focus more attention to it, although work is ongoing.
Hope springs eternal.
