A really stupid/simple request...

Something that's always bothered me.

Why the hell is the post message box (the one I'm typing in right now) so narrow? Well, I mean, I know WHY -- it's a phpBB default, ok, yeah, and designed in an era where 800x600 and 1024x768 were king...

...But we are not in that era. so is there any way we could widen it a little? At least for me, it always subconsciously screws up the way I format my paragraphs while writing out posts -- I see it as 4 or 5 lines in the post reply page, and when I hit submit, bam, that goes down to like 2 and a half. And it just looks weird.

It'd just feel more natural. It shouldn't be that hard of a thing to switch, should it?

I'm pretty sure there is a 'resize the message box' firefox extension. Several people have it in their sigs.

edit: I think this is what they've got.

    edit2: yep, seems to work

That's because paragraphs are used to separate ideas, not lots of words.

Unless you're qorzm and then they are used to separate attention-span periods.

Man this add-on is really cool, I had the same problem with the tiny textbox as Recoil42 had. This extension makes the box way more comfortable to type in now, rock on.

I usually hit enter twice after a sentence or two because reading a big chunk of text is hard on the eyes. Makes it look cleaner.
