The Well of Echoes - how'd it strip out the demon from Bode like that? Is it because the demon/Dodge was an echo of the original?
Yep, he's an Echo, that's why he had to leave via the anywhere key, instead of the door to the wellhouse, the doorway will dissipate echos ( like their Grandmother)

Riiight, forgot that part.
Clever way to tie up that loose end.
And looking back it's a really cool element that the main villain this whole time is, essentially, a magical copy of the original that loop-holed itself out of the 'rules' limiting it through creative use of key magic.
Alpha #1 was so impressive!!! Their was some frightening stuff and great moments. I feel like it all went by too fast!
Hill had me scared for Jamal and Kinsey the whole time! When possessed Bode walked through the cave and you could see what he did to the other students, I was scared as to what he was going to do to them. Then when possessed Bode explains his plan sent chills through my body! That's basically what major religions are like now!
Some how Rodriguez was able to make his work even more detailed! I think he may be drawing digitally now. There was alot of clear tiny details in some of his panels but the scene that really got me was the demise of Mutuku. He gazed into Nina's eyes one last time. The way Rodriguez drew that made me sad to see him go!
I was just underwhelmed how easily Rufus showed up so easily and saved the day. But then again Bode is just a little kid so it would not of taken too much effort. It was a cleaver idea but it just happened to quick? I felt it ALL went by too quick. Like this book should of been longer! Or maybe I just don't want it to end...

Nah,
I think Rufus saving the day at the end was perfect.
He was the one guy Dodge couldn't control, couldn't fool.
And he just happened to show up at the right time. :P
I've been avoiding this thread because I'm extremely behind but I just had to pop in here and say that I recently got Locke and Key 4 and 5 and holy shit.
The art changes were cool, the art in general was great and I'm amazed by the authors willingness to push forward so quickly. Nothing feels rushed but I certainly didn't expect all that to happen as quickly as it did.
It all ends one way or another that's for sure! If it's delayed again, I'll end existence!
Given how things went down last issue, I'm expecting this issue to mostly focus on character resolution, one giant epilogue and denouement. What happens to keyhouse, what happens to the surviving characters, etc.
Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.
I finished the last collection care of my local library. Any idea when Alpha and Omega will be available in paperback? I need it to match my other TPB on the shelf!
I too finished Locke and Key recently and enjoyed it. The best part was when what's-her-names discarded personalities were on the lam, scurrying around the house.

You referring to Kinsey's emotions? Yeah that was great. Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez can do no wrong. They need to do another project together.
fear my full collection of crusty singles because I can't not dive into a short re-read of Locke and Key and usually snack during at least one issue. Book 3's singles are basically cool ranch flavored at this point.
finished this with the trade the other week too, although it'd been so long since i'd read previous volumes i had to go online to explain both
dodge's destruction when he got pushed back into the wellhouse - echo/ anywhere key fare and bodes resurrection - animal key based
which did cause some loss of momentum in those last 2 issues.
will guide to the known keys and grindhouse ever be collected? i was relying on them showing up in the last trade. am i stuck with an expensive trip to ebay now?

i will be your horseman.
Although I cannot say for certain yet whether the pages inside will be all blank.

Though given how much things have settled down by the end of it, the wait seems less horrifying than after the last couple issues. :P

Can't keep a good eldritch abomination down.

Are you sure? Are you SURE?! Dammit, Tobes I can't handle having to wait anymore than I have to!
I'm scared

ending spoiler
not that i dislike it i think the ending was both tragic/depressing and somewhat uplifting.
That really got to me.
I just got the last Collection and yeah me too.
