That's his whole schtick though, try and make people uneasy about the horrible things he says. I watched one of his stand ups and by the end it was wearing on me.
Thirty minute show is good though.

His mom dating the 24-year old hot chick was pretty stupid though.
no way, i've never had to turn off louie
curb has moments where i'm just
'i cannot watch this. this is impossible to watch'
Yes
Curb is the only show I have yet encountered that is literally unwatchable sometimes
I think it's because his neuroses and general dumb-assedness gets him into the awkward situations which are completely avoidable, so I'm both incredibly uncomfortable and furious at the same time
i am excited for this show i like louis's stand up I hate patton oswalt's stand-up curb is great but I haven't seen much this show was alright and had some missteps

Yes, but what is your stance on abortion?

My problem with Curb is sorta the same problem I had with the Office.
When it treads that tightrope of awkwardness it can sometimes be the funniest thing in the world. But sometimes it goes just a little bit too far and ceases to be funny and becomes upsetting, annoying, depressing, insufferable.
As was said, sometimes I've just turned off Curb thinking 'nope, just can't be doing with this'.
It also does that jerk-zoom thing whenever you are supposed to laugh or be awkward whenever someone delivers that killer line. It's the cinematic equivalent of a stand-up saying 'And ermmm' at the end of a gag. That annoys me.
Otherwise, it is pure gold. The reunion episode might be my favourite half-hour of TV ever.

Still not sure what I think of the show either.
Hopefully his lesbo Mom makes another appearance.
That was an awful episode. So uncomfortable.
Uncomfortably awesome.

Overweight and depressed?
IT's true.
Pretty much, yeah
every
time
I love this one
why?
I think Louis beats out Curb Your Enthusiasm for most uncomfortable moments on TV.
Had to look that one up because I thought the thread title was wrong.
Eh, I think that's something of a gross oversimplification. Discomfort comes up a lot, but it's frequently attendant to something more nuanced.
I hope he doesn't kill himself because boy is he depressing about his life
I think he loves his daughters much too much for that, though
no way
But it's pretty close.

The first season was a standard 13 episodes, thats how long cable seasons are.
