Have recently moved from Aus to Toronto and am looking for a social gaming group that meets regularly? I am really looking for a social fighting-game league that deals with SSB, Street fighter, MvC3 etc...
I ran into a group at WIzard World Comic-con Toronto, a few months back but I lost their' card they ran N64 nights too...
Any relevant info would rock.
Cheers.
This isn't the right forum, but I'll help you anyway.
For Street Fighter you'll have to go to SRK and find the relevant threads. For Soulcalibur it's pretty much 8wayrun.com. For Tekken and a few other things (mostly Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Mortal Kombat 9) go to TorontoTopTiers.com.
There are fairly regular gatherings for each game. Top Tiers runs a weekly (more often 2 or 3 times per week) Danger Room session that's downtown. Pretty much a bunch of people on a bunch of tvs playing a bunch of different games, mostly Tekken 6, MvC3, and MK9, with Soulcalibur and Street Fighter 4 on occasion.
There's also A&C Games new space that's opened up right downtown. They schedule sessions for different games every day, and I know Smash is on the schedule, but I don't play that game so I don't know when it is or how many people they draw.
Everyone around here is pretty social, so if you decide to go to anything let me know and I'll introduce you to some people.
