Looking for (couch) gaming trackball controller/keyboard
I'm trying to find a solution to playing PC games on my couch that doesn't involve using a tray table or just a standard controller.
My ideal controller/keyboard would be something like this:
except with the left and right click buttons like triggers on the right side with the trackball kind of like this (forgive my ghetto ms paint skills butchering an xbox360 controller):
That way I can use wasd keys and keyboard while being able to use the mouse (trackball) with my right hand and not have to use two separate devices.
Anybody know if something like this exists, or can suggest any alternatives?
I know some people game with trackballs, but I've never been able to pull it off.
I'm personally curious about how the razer hydra will work for couch-type gaming, but I'm pretty sure it's been delayed (it was supposed to come out when Portal 2 launched.) Plus while it looks nifty I kind of doubt it's good for competitive play.
I have no idea if it can function as a standard cursor though, and it's obviously no keyboard. So at the very least you'd need to pair it with a wireless keyboard with it for doing computer-type things from the couch.
I have an IOGear trackball keyboard. It has the mouse buttons on the opposite corner which is great for acting surfing, but it requires two hands to operate decently. It takes getting used to and might change a few... habits. Its decent quality, decent range, and a fair price. You really get what you pay for in this limited market. If I were to buy again, I'd get one with a touch pad over a mouse. Maybe something more like the Lenovo Edge.
Got my bluetooth adapter for the wii remote and it actually works pretty great. Putting a script together in glovepie was kind of a pain in the ass, but it's pretty nice once it's up and running.

Still, here's a couple videos:

Though I think I will try using a wii remote connected through the computer first since that looks very similar.

I would buy one if I couch gamed.
It's not exactly the cheapest keyboard considering the mouse looks terrible and will be need to be replaced but it is still being sold.
I'll see how the Wiimote does once I get the bluetooth adapter.
