I don't know why I bother with the MtG games, because I always end up in a situation where I'm just getting land cards, but nothing offensive to spend it on, or loads of offensive cards, but no land, so I can't use them. Every fucking time. :x
Just edit your deck and remove some of your land ca.... oh wait... the game has the same fucking godawful flaws as the first, and you can't properly edit your deck.
I know someone already posted it, but I gotta reiterate, buy this game if you for some reason don't have it already. They are working on porting all the LFD 1 maps into this one, that alone makes it worth the $7ish.

I tried Global Agenda last night, and was actually kind of enjoying it. Then I discovered that progress is a slow crawl which is only alleviated by spending money. It's precisely the kind of free-MMO setup that I hate. So in the end, I wouldn't recommend it.
I much prefer having to purchase pieces of content, or having to purchase in order to play more per day (LOTRO/DDO and Spiral Knights respectively).
Also the pre-existing community seems massively resentful of the influx of Steam users.
I played Global Agenda for a while before it went freemium or whatever you wanna call it. You get the first few levels really fast then it slows to a crawl. The community is pretty bad, almost LoL bad. If you like flying around with jetpacks it's fun, and certainly worth it now that it's free.
The maps are made by Razor, not Valve, and require the special motion controller to play. It's basically paying about $150 for some new fan made maps. Do not want.
Actually, you're paying about $150 for a controller. It just happens to come with some DLC for Portal 2 and some other software stuff I didn't pay much attention to.

I was interested back when they said they were aiming for $100, and it would come with Portal 2, because I sort of expected that they might to try aim for releasing it somewhere close to Portal 2's release.
Now, at $140 and I already own Portal 2 and have also gifted two copies of Portal 2, I'm not so enthused about it.
Hell, even at $140 if they had it ready for the Portal 2 release I probably would have bought it.
I played Champions for a bit when it first released. Has it improved much since then?
I played in the Beta and quit when it went live because I was bored. Now that it's free, I went back and gave it another look. It feels like it's been fleshed out a bit better than it was originally and my few minutes I meant to spend playing ended up to be more than 4 hours.

Such a bummer, but I'm glad they do put that on the game's page so if people do buy it they aren't surprised by the corpses fading away before they even hit the ground.
Thankfully I already have an imported Asian version on the 360 that is fully uncensored.

Progress has not been rapid, though, and I hear the ported maps are fairly buggy.
These F2P games are not going well for me (sarcasm).
My wife and I have been playing the shit out of Spiral Knights (and spent some money, because we both play it and have an awesome time). This morning I booted up Champions, and she saw it...10 minutes later she's downloading it and raving about what kind of hero to make.
For the people who tried to and finally gave up trying to log into Champions, here's their statement on the launcher.
We are aware of an issue currently impacting users ability to log into the game and or edit their account settings, Our Operation team is actively investigating this issue, however there is no ETA at this time for a resolution. All we can ask is for you to check back later. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
PS Sorry for ruining Star Trek
Ok, I threw that last part in, but the first paragraph is valid.

I know, but I still wanna be excited about it. I liked the original maps much better than the sequels.

Steam, welcome to my family.
This would be me and my fiance except Champions doesn't really let you make the kind of hero you want to make, just some pre-made archetypes.

And no, Echo. The Store doesn't load for me in game. With the entire weekend to work with though, I'm sure they'll figure it out. Cryptic isn't one to refuse money (even if a portion is possibly going to Steam).

Edit: Well, I'll keep trying and let you know after lunch if I'm able to log in and steam wallet/token up.
Not seeing it here (Canada).
I'm in the US.
In other news, GOG is having its summer "staycation" sale starting June 20. Steam would be loco not to do a summer sale this year.
Glad they put it on steam though.
Oh. The item for champions is just a sidekick. Meh.

I thought all copies come with the original, not just pre-order?
Or is that just the console version?

What do you mean back? Unless it was there very briefly it wasn't on Steam before now. The Steam news also list it as just released.

Was it ever taken off?

It does if you subscribe.
That's what the "optional subscription" is for
It's also why I never bothered getting into it
That wouldn't be free to play.
It does if you spring for a Gold account.
That wasn't required in what you wrote.
tips etc for playing to be found here

I think you just cracked the idea behind free to play games.
