So Darkspore only works with a constant connection, who's awesome idea was that? I mean, even in MMO's, if I dissconect in the middle of a dungon, I can return with the same progress. This crap reset the stage.

I'm really liking Spiral Knight so far. The you can go down 10 times without paying thing is less than ideal but hey, it's free and it's fun. I wish guns were better though.

Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if Labor had not first existed. Labor is superior to capital, and deserves much the higher consideration. - Lincoln
I wasn't liking darkspore too much, just not my bag I guess. Seemed bland and boring.

I've discovered that L4D2 has a unique ability to go from an awesome game to a god-awful game within the span of a couple of hours. :? I just kept getting more and more frustrated with more and more things. I guess it's only a good idea to play for an hour or two at a time, unfortunately.
Also I felt like, the longer I played, the more noticeable the AI's incompetence was. Valve is good at most everything they attempt. But seriously? Alyx Vance was more helpful than these three idiots I'm running with.

You're playing it wrong. LFD and LFD2 must be played with other people, preferably your friends. If you simply must, you can substitute the people on the opposing team and pubstomp. But at the very least, your own team has to be your buds.
If the valve pack is going to be $25 during the steam sale, I think I should wait on lfd2.
The Valve pack was never less than $50 when it was on sale before. I doubt it'll go lower than that now, with Portal 2 by itself still being $50 new on Steam.
global agenda is so much better since they put it on steam so many people to play with, at all hours! i'm finally getting my moneys worth from elite status (granted ib ought it when it was on sale for like 8$ or something awhile back but still!) God bless steams ravening horde of a fanbase that will play anything that's free ;-)
I wasn't playing it single player. It was me and one other dude, switching between 1-on-1 Versus games and campaign co-op.
That might as well be single player. The joy of l4d comes from working together with 3 others to a) survive and b) smash the shit out of your competition. AI bots are ok, but the new specials hindered the already iffy AI. Add to it that they cannot talk to plan or shout for help or understand that you don't take pills and immediately use the medkit.... it can be frustrating.
That said, they are better than pubs about 70% of the time. Bots can shoot accurately.
Still, l4d is multiplayer and team focused. like the others have suggested, join Armadeaddon and get in a few campaign games (just tell people you're kinda new and they'll help you with all the basics) and then play some vs.
So, my dad's finally decided to purchase more on Steam. I had to argue with him about "yeah, Dungeon Siege 3 is $50 but you get DS1&2 as well." (He's used to GoG and everything <=$10) but I had two breakthroughs. He bought Assassin's Creed and he asked "does this have any train games?"
That last one kinda scared me...

At least point him in the direction of Trainz or Sid Meier's Railroads.

The PA group is perfect for that.

Well, they're running a business. Someone's got to pay to keep the game running.
GOG, however, has announced a sale starting next week.

If I'm available I'll rarely say no to L4D2 coop. Hit me up if you need another person.

Same question here.
Actually I was wrong. I was perusing the C-Store and found you can buy those locked sets for points.

Don't even joke about something like that :x
I hope you weren't banking on an inheritance.

You don't want to end up homeless.
I dunno, but for $5, how long do you need it to be? If each scenario is an hour or two, that's plenty for me.
