Did she to anything outside Deadpool/Agent X?

I think Agent X is what ruined her relationship with Marvel. I can't imagine that she's still holding a grudge over that, though.
Thomas: Most online fans are aware of your departure from the title over “creative differences.” Without getting too specific, when did you first get the indication that leaving the title may be the wisest option??

Simone: This is tricky stuff, because it's an editor's job to do what he thinks is best for the book, but it's fair to say that despite the fact that we both tried very hard, there was trouble from the very first phone call. We had very different ideas on virtually every aspect of the book, and very different ways of communicating. I will say that perhaps I'd been spoiled because I've had really fantastic relationships with every other editor.

Thomas: This was the first instance in which you didn't immediately click with an editor??

Simone: Yeah, still to this day I think. But you know, it's a business, and it's a creative business, and people are going to have differences. I didn't want to leave, but I didn't want to stay and do a book I didn't feel really great about either.

This is the perfect time to relaunch Captain Marvel, too

If they're making characters younger, that's what Billy Batson needs. The whole point of Captain Marvel is that he's a child's idealism with godlike abilities. Once he got to around 16 years old or so (I think that's what he was when Captain Marvel started flirting with Stargirl?), it made less sense.

I listened to a pod cast (Where Monsters Dwell) where they interviewed Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner. They both hinted pretty heavily that Amanda will have something to do with this whole reboot.

It would be great to see that creative team on a book again. That early run of Powergirl was excellent. I'm a fan of light hearted books and she had the perfect art style to go along with something like that. Also, met her at Dragon Con and she was super cool. Shame she doesn't do con commisions tho :(

Resurrecting the classic version of a character would go against the trend that's being established here, though. If Captain Marvel were to get a title in the coming months, it'd be as Captain Thunder or something like that.

Otherwise, I'd expect a more faithful version of Captain Marvel (and the JSA) to emerge after DC has had some time to establish the new elements within their universe.

I don't think there are many titles Gail wouldn't be perfect for, she's damn good at what she does no matter what it is. She has a certain way of viewing things few writers do and that gives her an approach that is refreshing.

She did have some issues at Marvel many years ago but as someone said I believe that was before Joe Q took over, I believe it involved her run on Deadpool which did as someone point out change into Agent X but not sure of the specifics. If she's run afoul of anything at DC I would bet it has to do with her run on Wonder Woman which she was the first actual woman to write the title and it didn't exactly do huge numbers as some might have expected, considering who's in charge I doubt he looked very well upon that.

I'm honestly a little surprised DC continues to bother with Captain Marvel. It's very, very hard to update him without wrecking his character, but his character just screams "I was invented in the 1940s." That and the fact that they have to call him "Shazam" on the cover so they don't annoy Marvel.

Which makes more sense to me. It doesn't make sense that he's the biggest hero and icon in the DCU when there were loads of superheroes before him

Okay, so definitely picking up both Superman titles. I'm cautiously optimistic for Superboy.

As for Supergirl...I figured that even if Powergirl was eliminated by the new continuity, I'd still be okay as long as some of the spirit of that book remained in Supergirl. In that regard, the phrase "none of his affection for the people of Earth" worries me a little. And seeing as how Heroes got really stupid really fast, I'm not entirely confident in Michael Green's ability.

I guess I'll pick it up and see.

Now that the list is complete, my excitement is renewed once more. I'm gonna give Action Comics a shot and see if I don't discover why Grant Morrison is so well-regarded.

There's a lot of titles I'm on the fence on, but I just can't justify buying each one that I'm curious about.

Also, at the end of this, it's odd that all of those CBR rumors were wrong except the Grant Morrison one.

Pass on all the Super books. Yeah it's Morrison, but I'd rather wait a few months to see where he goes with this "no one trusts me" thing. And it looks like Super Bibbo: year one for the AC cover.

AC does sound like a 'Year One' series of sorts judging by it's cover and solicit. Think they plan to give Superman some immortality or at least slow aging?

Yeah, it does. They seem to be merging the old Earth 1 and Earth 2 Supermen into one guy, and trying to find a balance between him being the working man's icon from the golden age as well as the world's greatest hero from each age after.

I'm excited for both ends of it. The only thing that has me a bit worried is that solicit info for Supergirl.
