Well, once that game is over, Soritas? On MY Aestas 2? It's more likely than you think! For my turn, I'm moving into High Orbit and chasing those nasty nasty Sisters off! Shoo, raiding fleet shoo!
Well, the reason I mention it is because I think that Pollo is going into high orbit of Aestas-2 to fight Skarsol, so you will have to wait till after their game to move there and fight the winner.
Err, so should I still be playing a 40k with Pollo tonight?
skarsol on
why are you smelling it?

Looks that way!
*edit*
Ah, right, and since Pollo is also Chaos, I'm not going to fight him if he wins. I'll bide my time and see if the Sisters need a thumping after Pollo is done, then.
Having fully refilled their magma hoppers, the Witchhunters headed to a chapel nearby for an extended prayer session. Their plans were rudely interrupted, however, when a exploratory force of tainted Imperial Guard crashed down, destroying the chapel! It was time for burning!
It was a grueling battle, but in the end the fires of faith were too strong for the traitors and they were driven from the planet. The Witchhunter Canoness bravely gave her life tying up an entire company of guardsmen till the very end of the fight. Falling bravely, she didn't get to see the holy fires finish consuming the opposition down to almost the last man. So brave were her efforts that the Sisters Repentia that were unable to reach her in time were driven into an even greater frenzy than the normal Sisters even thought was possible!
Almost tabled Pollo through a combination of bad dice rolls on his part and some really nice flamer template layouts. IG don't like flamers apparently. CnC mission ended up a draw as the Penitent Engines cleared his objective but my troops were unable to get back to mine in time due to game ending after Turn 5.
Net result:
9 KP to 2
Sisters Repentia: Furious Charge
Exorcist: Reinforced Crew Compartment
Rhino: Terrifying
That looks like a clusterfuck haha. Also, what are those little red splotches all over the place?

I mean, Pollo talked about nearly being tabled, and the board is covered in catsup stains...
Anyways, Skarsol, that's three strikes against you.
1: for whupping my fellow traitor IG brah-in-law
2: for having more renown points than me.
3: for being such a magma loving, flamey flash bastiche.
So you'd better prime those flamers, because I'm about to come crashing down. My schedule is flexible, so when will it be good for you to get another game in? Planetstrike, or standard?
Hi folks, Smurfy here because I don't visit nor regular the forums here like crazy anymore but I saw Gabe on, said hi n such you know the deal because you know its nice to get re-acquainted with a random person I met on the Internet a year ago.

Now that I have a text file of my army for editing, here's the link to that as well as to my BFG fleet.
I've now got a have Hydra Flak Tank Squadron 'Rolling Thunder' who are Fast, and 'Furious Maelstrom' a Leman Russ Executioner with Tank Hunter.
Games was Annhilation. I gave Skarsol first turn, and he chose the bottom of the map, putting his exorcists and rhinos full of sisters in the middle, with repentia coming up the left flank, 3 penitent engines on the right.
I deployed my Manticore in the NW corner where it'd be safe behind cover, and could blow shit up at will. CCS with MoO and autocannon were tucked on the middle of the board edge where they had a good range of fire, but were protected by all the tanks in front of them for the opening of the game. I strung my infantry along the middle, hoping that I could pop the rhinos, forcing the sisters to stroll across the killing fields to get to me, with Rough Riders off to one side for counter assault.
With the way the two bunkers channeled the field, I knew I was going to have to hit those Exorcists head on, and take them out before they could do too much damage, so I set my lines up so that they were faced with more targets than they could handle, and whatever survived would have a shot at taking them out on my turn.
And then I stole the initiative. :P With the deployment I'd used, that left me in an excellent place to unload on Skarsol's vehicles, blowing the organ launcher off one Exorcist, and detonating the other. This actually completely threw off my battle plan, because I figured loses would've left me more room to maneuver, so I left my infantry kind of milling around while things maneuvered to try and get good fields of fire on the incoming rhinos, and foolishly started edging my Riders forward instead of keeping them waiting for counter charge opportunities.
Through turn three, I killed off the Repentia and the Penitent engines, but despite my best efforts the rhinos made it up the board, my infantry positioning meaning that when Soritas started popping out, my Riders got flamed to death, along with one Penal squad. The other one got tied up with the canonness, but managed to keep her occupied for four assault phases, despite her blessed weapon.
Then the Veterans jumped out of the Vendetta, dropping a demo charge on a squad of Soritas, and where then wiped out when they failed a tank shock LD test, and fell back, but things were so crowded they had no where to go and were Trapped!
Turn five, that stupid terrifying Rhino hit my blobbed infantry squad, who also just failed their LD, and then rolled exactly high enough to run off the board. Despite the stellar start to the game, my poof placement had given up so many KP that I ran a serious risk of losing out on KP if the game ended.
Fortunately for me, the game ran the full seven turns, and by the end of seven, all that was left were two Rhinos and the weaponless Exorcist, along with a fleeing Soritas, and a fleeing priest. All I had to do to tie Skarsol for reknown was kill all three vehicles. So guess which one refused to die, despite being targetted by a Vendetta, and a Leman Russ Executioner?
Viva la Exorcist!
And here's what the battle field looked liked when it was over:
What a mess.
You see that ruined Raider my manticore is stuck on? That damn thing immobilized two tanks in two turns as they tried to drive over it. Fortunately, I killed the rhino that got hung up there.
*edit* looking at that picture, I realize that I was driving my Hydras around backwards the entire game. :P
Also, Mazzy! Fly to Sector 3! I want to space fight someone next turn!
(that, and skarsol knows all of my tricks now, so I might not have as much luck if I go after sector 1...)
Alright let's hurry up. Since Pollo and Halos are the only people that can force a match this turn, and they are both raiding fleets anyway, the rest of us can just make our moves. My fleet will move to approach, I think that is going to happen a lot this turn.
The runes have been cast, signs and portents gathering and showing only one real course to follow a golden path. As the runes fall, the Eldar Wraithhost makes for Aestas6. The Imperials shall see what even an army of the dead can do against the faith of their corpse emperor.
And allow me to assure you Lawinator, that even though you're broadband vox-casting that ridiculous song on repeat, I can most assuredly take the sky from you.
Ok, I'm free now. I'll hop on vassal and hang out. Send me a message if you get on and I'll hear the beep.
edit: Actually I guess I spoke too soon. I won't be able to play tonight. How about Monday?

Well, I just realized two important things from my battle with Skarsol:
1: I totally forgot about my commissar executions and rerolls that probably would've saved those units that died through ignomius fleeing.
2: His repentia still have their furious charge power, because they were not wiped out - the priest survived, fleeing off the table, which counts as destroyed for KP, but count as the unit surviving where the rules for battle honors is concerned.
Ok so I guess it'll be another turn of flying through space until I can get somewhere to kill shit. But soon, ever so soon, the army of the dead shall bath in blood and...stuff.
Man I'm too tired to come up with proper grim-dark talk.
Okay, family is running late with dinner so I might be able to start here in 15 minutes. But would have to stop in about an hour and 15 minutes or so for a 30 minute break.
Okay, Pollo and I played. I ended up tabling him(conceded with my units in close combat with his). So 13 kps to 0(all mine lived). And I won the battle. Going to roll the results with invisible castle for the honors tomorrow since I have to head to bed for work. I will post them here.
I thought I had a pretty decent starting position. Plenty of open fields of fire, not too many targets. We were playing a standard scenarion, by the way, since neither of us knew the planetstrike rules. But a combination of darkness and the mek's force field completely protected the orks for the first turn. Here's the end of the first turn:
Then it went bad. Orks came swarming over our lines, killing and maiming and raping and stabbing and slashing and humping and biting and drinking and puking and then back to humping. The game basically ended on turn 2, but I thought I could make one last-ditch stab at his objective. This is also where my mvp distinguished himself. The tank that heroically blew up managed to take a few orks with him. I salute my cunning tank.
Then it was basically mopping up. The valkyrie went down in flames, and the other tank only barely rode off with a horde of orks banging on the sides. I was basically just taking pot shots with the guys in the ruins while Mazzyx hacked apart the sentinels and the last survivors on the hill.
And then part way through turn 4 he killed nearly everyone left alive and I conceded defeat.
It was a massacre. Even "massacre" doesn't seem like a strong enough word. It was a big, ugly, massacre. Like a biglycre, or a massigly. Something bad. I think I need to rethink my strategy.
Okay going to do my rolls here with invisible castle for you to see for battle honors. Only one squad got below half strength and that was the Greenz Best Boyz.
Looted Wagon:1d6=6

I didn't do any of the dedicated transports. They are trukks anyways so not much they do but drive and die. List with updated special rules looks like this.
Campaign (1998pts)
2000pt Orks 5th Ed (2008) Roster
Orks after beating up some of the traitor guard boyz decided they want more of a fight. With that I will move to sector 4. Because the kaptain heard there might be some of those well armored humies there.
Posts
Here's the link to my writeable BFG list, so I'll be able to keep it updated with damage and other changes.
Also, just to confirm, the Reinforcements appeal can only be used to replace destroyed ships? It can't be used to add additional ships to the fleet?
*edit*
Ah, right, and since Pollo is also Chaos, I'm not going to fight him if he wins. I'll bide my time and see if the Sisters need a thumping after Pollo is done, then.
My mistake on the sector thing, 2 is a good choice. Fancy meeting you here again. I'm home now, I'll hop on vassal and hang out for a while.
