psshaw, there are plenty of hours in the day for alllll the gaaaaymez.

skyrim, rage, BF3, arkham city, dead island, ratchet and clank, uncharted 3, halo anniversary, lord of the rings: war in the north, zelda: skyward sword, assassin's creed, gears 3...

honestly i"ll probably play mw3 the most. i have a feeling im not gonna be all that into BF3 and most of the other games are single player experiences for me.

Also, maybe you guys have already seen this? It's news to me, anyway:

"When a player reaches his last reward, the streaks can be awarded again, beginning with the first one."

So, yeah, awesome. If your streaks are set up at like 3-4-5, you can get them out multiple times if you go on a 10-15 streak.

    That's ... fucking ... awesome.

milk ducks, I believe the Juggernaut in that video was from the Support package. From what I've read Assault and Support both get Juggernaut streaks, but Support gets a riot shield and a USP .45 handgun whereas Assault gets an M60E4 LMG and MP412 handgun.

Hey, just recently fired up some MW2. Is it me or are the a ton of chopper gunners, EMP's, and AC130's being given out for care packages? Care packages used to be a lot of ammo or a sentry gun or a UAV or something. Seemed like every match in Ground war had at least one of those spawn, and frequently more. I think we had 4 AC130's in a single match for a single side. Not hacking, as it was different groups over a 2-3 hour period, and multiple sides got them. Anyone know what's going on there?

Wait a minute...Assassin makes you immune to the Blackbird equivalent?

That is pretty goofy. The Blackbird was the only thing in BLOPS that made Ghost being OP bearable.

I would not use the word bearable in the same sentence as Ghost in any situation.

The argument that Blackbirds make Ghost okay is fucking retarded. An 8 killstreak should not counter a perk that counters a 3 killstreak. Oh, did I mention that there is a 4 killstreak that counters both the 8 and 3 killstreaks?

I'm not here to argue about BLOPS. Since its been done to death and I sold the game anyway.

I'm just wondering if they really learned anything from it. Well, I'm not going to get the game right away anyway. I'll just play my brother's copy and see how it feels.

When I was playing with Mechanical and a couple of other guys last night we had the shittiest connections in all the objective games, but we went to TDM and had good connections and stomped on everybody we were playing it was good. MW2 is ruined by people using shitty classes and Blops is ruined by connection, but in general I prefer Blops.

Everything I've been seeing from MW3 has me really excited and I fucking hate that I have to wait for it now. Yet I won't stop watching people playing it or talking about it and getting me excited.

And the main reason I quoted this is because of how much I love half a team spraying the enemy spawns with M60s on Nuketown it is. As long as you are the one moving fastest to get the best camping spot it is delightful. Plus the sound of so many M60's gives me half a chub.

apparently there are 80 levels and 15 prestiges because they wanted to extend the online life of the game. and when you prestige, you unlock prestige points that you can spend buying extra class slots, double xp for that prestige, and stuff like that. ive only heard this from one source, so it could be false information. still, pretty interesting.

Yeah, specialist is worrying me, and Assassin somewhat.

    Assassin Pros:
In a vacuum, base Assassin is better than base Ghost, and Assassin Pro is IMO better than Ghost Pro (opinion).
Assassin will apply to more detection methods, in type and number. There are more types of UAV out there, heartbeat is back, thermals are (I'm assuming) going to be not totally shitty.
The specialist killstreak will make more Assassins than should actually be out there by rights.

    Assassin Cons:
OUTSIDE the vacuum, Assassin looks a bit dicier. Blast Shield Pro is the best of two of BLOPS's best perks. And with more explodey killstreaks and base Scav in a different perk slot and (hopefully) refuelling tac nades and explosives that will probably mean there'll be buku asplosions. Quickdraw is a kill-faster perk. Any perk that says "kill faster" is a competitive perk. Hardline Pro is looking good, esp with the better killstreaks.
Sirep Pro (assuming good sound design), Recon, Marskman (?). There will be counters. If they don't like that they'll have to take Dead Silence and gimp themselves further in a straight-up fight.
Separating the old Pro wouldn't be a sacrifice except LOOK AT ALL THOSE KILLY KILLSTREAKS HOLY SHIT.
With the Assault and Specialist streak lists, it's hard to say how many UAVs we'll actually see.

Which brings me to Specialist. Damn. The only con I can see is that bullets still kill you dead and you still have to use bullets yourself. Other than that, damn.

The most encouraging sign right now is no one can agree what will be OP. That could mean that we're looking at MW2 kitchen-sink balance without the OP-uber-alles shit like OMA DC. That's the dream.

Yeah, apparently Advanced-UAV is really just a Blackbird/UAV hybrid; like the SR71, it shows enemy positions and direction, and cannot be shot down. It does not, however, give real-time updates of their movements. Instead, it makes periodic sweeps like a standard UAV. So it kind of makes sense (or fits in with their description, anyway) that Assassins won't appear on Advanced-UAV.

I agree that it sucks, but I guess I don't think it's the end of the world. If there's one thing I've learned from playing Black Ops for a year, it's to all but forget that the mini-map even fucking exists. I am so much more situationally aware than I was before BLOPs, and frankly, that's made me a much better all-around player. So if you're telling me that half the people playing will be immune to Spy Planes (they already are!), Counter Spy Planes (I almost never run them!), Heartbeat Sensors (I didn't use them in MW2, and I almost never use Motion Sensors in BLOPs), and Thermal Scopes (Yuck) ... well, I'm already dealing with that situation, and thriving.

Blind Eye will make players undetectable by air support, and Stalker Pro will basically make you immune to claymores, again ... I'm already dealing with that situation, and I'm doing very, very well for myself.

At least in Modern Warfare 3, people who want to run that setup will have to use all three of their perks: they're giving up Steady-Aim, Sleight of Hand, and Quickdraw, so they're at a disadvantage in straight-up gun fights; if they're using Stalker instead of SitRep or Dead Silence, there's an obvious situational loss there; they won't have Scavenger, so they'll more than likely lose their suppressed weapon at some point, and have to rely on another that they've picked up, which may give them away when they fire; and they won't have Blast Shield, so they'll be getting picked up by random 'nades and explosions, noob tubes, etc.

I think Assassin's great. I think it's powerful. I think it's going to be used by a lot of people. But I'm also thankful that Ghost has been broken up into a number of perks that all need to be taken for the full effect. I think that's a little more balanced.

There needs to be a straight-up Blackbird, though, and that shit needs to pick up everybody.

I'm sure what they mean is that you'll keep the ones you've earned if you die, just like if you earn a Chopper Gunner now, but die before you get to call it in. You still keep it, even though you died. That's the only thing I can think of that GameSpy might be talking about, because that is not what the information and gameplay footage coming out of CODXP indicates.

Also, more multiplayer footage, this time featuring Advanced UAV and Recon Drone (which looks bad ass); you basically fly it around and mark enemy players for your squad with a big green X, and then those targets appear on the mini-map. Pretty cool, I think.

It's a new game mode. In order for your team to earn points, you have to pick up the dog tags of the enemies you've killed.

And I love how powerful the weapons sound in MW3.

Yea I noticed the weapons kill a lot faster in these videos, it's looking pretty refreshing. I am really gonna enjoy that dogtag gamemode, it seems like a extented TDM with a bit of teamwork in the mix since you can deny kills. That recon drone though...OH MY GOD, that shit is straight up bad ass and 100exp per tag? Fuck yesssssss

Glad they are really giving a shitload of options for people that dont wanna just kill people but rather help the whole team via support. I mean killing people with guns in CoD is so dated, reminds me of the times I used to play MW2/BLOPS. :P

R.I.P. tomahawks, you will forever be magic in my heart.

I also dig the maps at the 1:14 and 2:26 mark

But kill confirmed every time you pick up a dog tag, including two close by could get a tad annoying.

I don't know how anyone can use red dot sights and the like. I've been using dat toobz for so long, that trying to go back to a RDS was actually throwing my aim off. Iron sights for life, yo.

Also, I know I am perhaps the only person who thinks this, but I would play the hell out of a mode similar to Combat Training, but more fleshed out. Like give me a functionally similar experience to the whole MP deal, only with bots, and maybe my friends.

Asked Bowling if there would be a mode similar to Combat Training in MW3 on Twitter, but I think I don't know how Twitter works, nobody ever answers my questions :(

I think this might be my game of choice for MW3. Lots of running to certain spots, so it's not going to deter camping a lot, but if you have to get to the tag to win the game, that's gonna be fun.

Another thing I was thinking about over the weekend:

It must suck to be a CoD developer... you essentially craft what you hope is an awesome game for roughly 2 years, only to have the majority of your fanbase move on to the other CoD in only a year. Treyarch's offerings are typically weaker, but everyone still jumps ship in droves.

Also, the more I think about Assassin, the less it bothers me. I mean, you have to give up something in order to take the perk, and almost everyone has played old school MP FPSs, you had no way of knowing where other people were. Just because they're immune to your radar doesn't mean they're invincible.

Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
