July will bring my wife and I's first anniversary and we wanna do something fun and spontaneous... Mainly, wait until the week we wanna travel for a last minute deal, and decide on the fly where we're gonna go. Probably we'll plan to be gone for around a week.
Just looking for a few good "last minute deals" sites that are recommended, and perhaps some ideal locations that are usually cheap, but nice...
We're really open to whatever... I wouldn't mind going back to Vegas, or doing a resort location in the caribbean, or even venturing over to Europe if such deals can be found.
I would check out sites like groupon, livingsocial, kgbdeals, facebook deals, yelp deals. Both for random travel packages, and also for random stuff to do once you have a destination in mind. Make sure to check the ratings and make sure they aren't like totally out of the way though.
I think this will be the second or third time I recommended this, but I swear I'm not shilling-www.airbnb.com
It's basically a site where people put up their places(you can find both rooms in an otherwise occupied place, or full apartments/houses) for rent. From my experience, you can save quite a bit of money, and especially if you rent the full place, it feels nicer than a hotel.
NYC? Drive to Buffalo, and fly to NYC, you could potentially get flights for like $150 or less per person, round trip including taxes and fees. Though if you're considering Europe I'm guessing your budget is a little bigger, how much are you willing to spend?

NYC is an option, yeah... I mean, we could probably drive there, and that'd really cut down on expenses.
