I don't remember any of that surrounding the ME2 CE.

Already calling the extra character + mission as ME3's Cerberus Network equivalent and that they will be packed in with regular copies of the game too.

I dunno, there was some Dr Pepper shit for additional weapons wasn't there?

But DA2 was pretty bad. If I'm remembering correctly the digital version with Seb could only be bought from EA's download server and only for a limited time. And I think it wasn't even announced he would be exclusive to it until pre-orders had closed.

I have ME2 but no DLC for it. I get 2 suits of armour and 2 weapons per category. Not really acceptable base game for an RPG.

    Yeah, this.

I'm hoping that any real content found in the special edition (by which I mean the character & adventure DLC) winds up being sold separately.

Or that those of us who've preordered already get some "signature edition" upgrade thing that includes some of that content.

When has it ever not wound up being sold separately? They want all of your moneys. Give all of your moneys to them.

The Sebastien signature edition screw up was mostly the fault of the retailers anyways (selling copies of something they didn't have or simply didn't know what extra content it came with). Bioware caught all the flack for it, so I doubt they will make that mistake again.

Seriously, Best Buy fucks up and its somehow Bioware's fault.

    Just give dem ur monies.

Considering I payed full price for everything for the collectors edition Mass Effect 2+all DLC including costume packs (Total of about $100). I've literally played that game for like 200 hours. That is like 50 cents an hour.

    Best money I've ever spent.

It's not listed in the standard edition on EA's store.

But whatevs, I'm probably going to give in and get the shiny edition. Because it's shiny.

Eh? There's only 2 weapons for SMG and pistol. 3 for shotgun/sniper and 4 for AR. Plus, unless you're counting the mod armor as one piece and counting the Cerberus suit as the second, there's like four pieces per slot in vanilla.

Still, more is always better, and since they're focusing on RPG elements and can probably inherit most of the gear from ME2 and then make more, we'll probably get it.

Even though I doubt that it'll be even a quarter of the train wreck DA2, that, combined with EA's $60 PC game price hike and tendency to have sales on said price to the range of $40 within like a month, makes me rather hesitant to buy it day one.

EDIT: and the "only 2 options per gun type" only doesn't apply if you select that one particular type for your weapon upgrade, rather than getting a new proficiency or the like.

Yeah, every game fits together really well, even though production values rise noticeably per game. Though I still think the epic landscapes in ME1 are jaw dropping and we never really got anything like that in ME2. Aside from that, ME2 is better looking in every way.

Unfortunately, no. The DLC armor packs later on split up the armor into pieces, so hopefully any ME3 armor will be the same.

This is a good point that I was overlooking, yet it doesn't affect half the classes since Infiltrators will always take the Widow and the other two combat classes have 3 weapons in their favored category without it (I forgot about the Claymore). Those remaining classes happen to focus on powers.

Still! That does narrow it down, and it sucks for adepts/sentinels/engies, so yes, they need moar dakka. If they inherit most of the weapons of ME2 and add new ones though, that should be pretty good. It's much more than ME1's choice of four, after all.

I'd respect them more if they just said "Microsoft drove a big dump truck of money over to EA HQ, and left us the keys." At least they'd be honest.

I'm not sure how interactive the reaper fight will actually be, since the gun didn't seem to have any effect on it. But still, a chase scene with a reaper is both badass and mandatory for the last installment of this trilogy.

A reverse LA Noir, where you have to lie convincingly to the machine (which should be easier, since you'll actually have done/not done the action rather than hiring voice actors to pretend that they are pretending about something they haven't done).

It'll be an important skill come the robot revolution at the end of 2012.

It'd be nice if the voice commands went with pointing, so you can say "that wall!" and flail wildly at it rather than just "move up".
