Today's training went okay but I'm still not where I want to be with my shoryukens, so no changes to my routine for now.
However I decided to try out Sagat for a while and found I like him quite a bit. I rarely ever use hk's anyway, so trading them for 2 fireballs and 2 dp's is fine by me. Definitely going to keep checking Ol' One Eye out some more.
Honestly, your execution is going to be really bad for a long time so don't get discouraged by not being "where you want to be." And executing while there's actual pressure to perform is going to be something else.
Is the community for Third Strike dead? I've only tried logging in about three times so far, but I've yet to connect to a Ranked match, and I'll be lucky to run into more than three people playing at all.
It's a real shame, since I was hoping this game would get almost as big as SFIV online

Yeah it died about 8-9 years ago along with most of the fighting game scene.

I've had connection issues since launch, and many of the games I did connect to in Ranked get were laggier than what I had found in SSFIV. Unfortunate, but not surprising, as I often had problems with GGPO as well.

I find matches no problem. You could always ask me.
I've been enjoying it more than SSFIV, since I'm a lot better at SF3(I think, anyway).

Critique if you would.
(Ignoring the awful first round.)
Gotta be careful with all those footsweeps. The second hit is an easy parry which can lead to big damage. More low sonic booms and ex-booms couldn't hurt either. Not bad though.

I've only tried playing 3S for about 20 minutes and in that time I could only connect to one ranked match. I thought I heard they were having ranked match connectivity issues.
I play randoms online in 3S, it's very different from AE so its a nice change of pace. Not having any major issues to get games, but I'm on 360 if it matters.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
i havent had any problems finding/connecting to ranked matches in third strike, personally. im on the ps3, so maybe 360 is having some issues on that front? either way, im having really a lot of fun playing third strike again.

I don't think I saw any parrys in there and there were a lot of opportunities for easy ones. And never random super.
Just had a Rufus player ragequit on me. You can't see it because he's in the way, but by the end of the ultra Rufus would be dead and I would have won the match.
I have the same problem. I'll figure it out one day, but I need to get the basics down, so I gotta find a quartercircle or whatever character that suits me.
Hitting dudes with fireballs as Ryu is fun, and Fei Long is pretty badass. I'm finding the challenges really hard though, getting the timing right on the combos is tough, and then trying to put a special move in the middle is even harder.
Charge characters just take patience. Once you get used to the completely different way to use them it becomes natural. Sometimes if I just switch off a charge character I'll notice that while I'm doing a combo I'll be holding (down)back to keep the "charge" stocked. After a few games I'll remember that I'm not using a charge and that I can stop.
That being said it helps to hold down+back the moment you do anything where you can afford to. So basically whenever you're doing anything that isn't walking forward.

the trend i have noticed over the years is that charge characters have a hump of difficulty in remembering to hold down and/or back while pressing buttons
but after you get over that they are much easier to play overall because they are usually very good characters outside of their special moves to make up for the fact that they can't use them as often

I'd love to see what she's put together for you when it's done. I am considering getting someone to put together a Fuerte/Ibuki thing at some point, though if R.Mika ends up being in SFxT it might have to be an Ibuki/R.Mika stick...
bison is definitely easier than yun. most of the charge characters are very easy to play. i would say that guile, bison and balrog are the easiest characters in the game once you're familiar with the basics of charging and how to use normals.

I'll post an image of the completed art work. Grove can post pics of it on the stick if he wants. R.Mika in SFxT seems unlikely now that they've revealed Rolento, but who knows!

what are you saying here
if you're saying that you're not going to bind a heavy kick button for sagat, you are doing it wrong
I forgot about heavy kick, and I can never remember the real name.
when i used the 360 pad i did kara throws with ken sliding my thumb across XAB
you can also set the ones you use most often with that character to the triggers and it's actually pretty easy plinking it with the face buttons

Yeah, I haven't even bothered to buy it yet. Though I will if only to support making stuff like that.
MvC2 was the same way, the only people who still play it are the ones that were already playing it for the past 10 years.

You're playing Remy. Don't do that.

You know, instead of being one of the sheep who hate Remy, try telling me why not.

Honestly, the main reason I play Bison is that I'm absolutely crap at any other characters I've tried.
Also, thought this looked cool, so I took a screenshot.

You do okay with Bison because you're playing the easiest character in the whole game.
She's great, if you're on the fence about getting stick art do it!
I thought the consensus was that Yun was the easiest character in the whole game and guaranteed wins as soon as you started the match.
Thanks for the plug Grove. It certainly helped that you knew exactly what you wanted. Specifics make all the difference.
