I'm really excited for the update tomorrow; I hope the new boss is super tough!
I'm also hoping that there's a way to respawn skeletron, and maybe the oceans will be updated to be infinite water.
Haha! A very short, wet life. Speaking of which, they need to make an unlimited underwater item. I'm suggesting a sweet inflatable pineapple that you can set up under a suitable amount of water. They'd also need to create an obligatory set of "square pants" to go along with it.

Yeah. Once you get silver or better gear, + a nightmare pickaxe or better, you're probably okay to hit up the corruption, but it'd be a challenge I think.
EDIT: Well, the nightmare pickaxe isn't a necessity.
You can deal with the corruption using dynamite or purification powder from the dryad.
I used copious amounts of dynamite, a grappling hook, and a Ball O' Hurt.
I've killed a lot of skeletons and still haven't found a hook to make the grappling hook with.
Also, is my next step to break shadow orbs and get a meteor to land? I'm kinda lost on what to do... I have gold everything (except my helmet, stuck a mining helmet there because fuck always having a torch in my hand. Also, silver bow), I've made it to hell and grabbed some hellstone but I obviously can't get obsidian with a gold pickaxe.

What, god, what? Anyway, I got the gold from the mine I mentioned earlier, and now I'm stuck trying to get out of here as well as fighting a skeleton a a couple smaller slimes, and a Slime Mother... how can it get worse?!

Quick question: If you have two beds in the same world, does it just spawn you to the nearest bed?

You spawn on whichever bed you right click on to set your spawn point.
I decided to say fuck it to the ocean castle plan, because I can't seem to even reach said ocean. Instead, I'll just build the traditional castle with a moat. I'm gonna need some buckets.... and explosives.

Better plan: If the land at the ocean's edge dips downward, break the sea-wall and let your world get flooded.

EDIT: Right now I'm trying to remove the dirt backtiles before laying down the first set of Stone Wall.... Ugh, this back-tile thing (and its removal) is a real bitch....
EDIT2: And I guess with the lack of embroidery or a throne, this'll end up being more of a fort than a castle... oh well.
Finally killed skeletron. Set up some ledges as suggested and bought the minishark to spray him with meteorite shot. The only reason I actually bothered was because I needed more books to place in my home.
Still, got a blue moon which i'm really glad for because the ball o hurt was awesome.

50% chance of a meteor spawning each time you smash an orb. 2% chance at the start of each night of a meteor spawning if you have smashed an orb. Meteors spawn 4 minutes 30 seconds after the start of night, or later. Theoretically, smashing an orb during the night time after that would result in a meteor immediately dropping if it would drop.
Three meteors dropping in a row during the day is, according to the code, straight up not possible.
One says being in the inventory one says holding. WHICH IS IT? My friend is under the impression that he is going to stack 99 of them in his inventory and all hell will break loose in the Jungle.
Anyone have tested this?
having a water candle in your inventory is enough. you dont even have to have it on your hotbar.
More than 1 will have no additional properties, from what i can see.
I am more interested to know if placed candles draw more mobs to that locale.
