Well, the mafia are more networked then we are. So maybe it might be better saving it for later. Then again if they kill you tonight we won't have it at all. But they won't have it at all either... Well there you have it.
The problem with this thinking is that in so doing, the mafia really link themselves for vote analysis later, so often they have to be careful.
I say we go for it. Nothing to lose, could be interesting, more votes for later analysis, etc etc

I'm curious. What exactly does this vote do? Does it kill somebody? Does it empower them?
If it gives someone powers, let's use it sooner so that they can have those powers for the rest of the game. If it just kills somebody, let's save it for when we have more vote data to analyze.
If you have absolutely no idea what it does? Let's use it and find out. At least we'll get twice as much vote data to sort through later.
Worst Case Scenario
It could do essentially nothing for the village, even if I receive the vote.
Mafia might not even have access to the mechanic, and it could be limited to a small amount of villager and neutrals- with which I totally just blew their cover. I wouldn't have designed the mechanic that way though. I understand it now as a bad risk for me to take.
I'm still operating under the assumption that mafia also have access to the vote effects.
FecklessRogue has a good point though. He doesn't trust me pulling up a vote and having the community bestowing it on myself. I don't particularly care for giving a potential mafia player a boon either. Where do the rest of you folks stand?
