I would love to see what my normal ELO is at these days, 5 game losing streak again, getting absolute mouth breathers for teammates. Welp, gonna try for another, lets see if I can make it 6!
I've mostly bought tank items and hit things, which worked well enough, but I'm more curious about how people play the map. Do Malphites roam after 6? Is a Stark's worth it for the AS and team synergy?
After TrusPA go on a 6 game losing streak (ranked) together the last two days, we end up going 4-2 today. One of them ended in epic fashion. both teams had 5 up, but we had one bot, so enemy team exploited this and did baron. We were already up a bit in terms of kills/farm but this baron could have shifted it right back in their favor. I, as jungle amumu, proceed to bandage in, smite steal baron, and flash out, taking minimal damage. We then immediately made their butts hurt.
I played this way back and decided to start again thanks to today's comic and newspost, but I really suck at this game and don't have any friends who play it.
The only champion I have unlocked is Sion (who sucks) but I'm not bad with Heimerdinger.
My name on LoL is Jashinslayer, I'm only Lv7 though.
So apparently Turrets can target and kill Vlad pool now.
I lucked out and got an early kill this way when vlad tried to ult & dive me for a kill.
is this true? I'm pretty sure this isn't true.
So yeah, how do you generally build Maokai?
I've heard about this whole 3 Rings craze
But then what, just normal tank stuff depending on the enemy team? Sunfire, FoN, Frozen Heart, etc?
I'm very against building maoki pure tank, he's capable of so much more, though he does do quite a bit of damage early/early mid game without a lot of ap. after 2/3 rings, 90% of the time I will go straight to abyssal scepter, unless they have like, 3+ physical deeps, then I'll get a sunfire. after this it's pretty much up in the air depending on how well I'm doing, enemy comp, team comp, ect. If you wanna play it safe, just go something like, abyssal, rod of ages, rylai's, <insert tanky item>, deathcap. but again, just freestyle depending on the situation.
I've also tried to whole trinity force build, the few games I tried it never lasted long enough to see if it was really worth it, but I can see how it would be useful on him I guess. I'd probably try it again if I'm steam rolling next time I play him, I always forget about it...

Game against a revive/rally team.
We dominated them a ludicrous amount but the game went on forever.
It was fun though. Silliness!

I need a PA premade to try out triple support + Vladimir + Jarvan idea which I am sure will be utterly amazing and unkillably awesome. The downside is that I don't know a support that can effectively jungle.
edit: Ah fucksticks. Not 5 minutes later I discover this quote by Morello
"Vlad will be nerfed, and this time, as dictated by me. I've handed the team their orders. They will show no mercy, and do what needs to be done. Though, I actually think he'll -still- be good. "

Any combination of Sona/Taric/Soraka/Janna. I'd say Karma but she doesn't protect Vlad like Janna does and doesn't add awesome resistances like the other 3 do, which is really great for champs like Vlad/Jarvan who generally get a lot of health.
Crossposting from the SE thread, I was duo queuing with my brother doing the Soraka + Vlad combo which has won me so many ranked games recently. The rest of my team got really pissy at me for picking Soraka (???) and trolled us by picking Janna and Sona. The enemy team were Mundo/Jarvan/Irelia/Malzahar and all of them had ignite. We proceeded to utterly destroy them in every teamfight, as Janna would ult after they blew ignites and we would heal Vlad up to full as he went to town on them.
I am terrible at this game, having just started. So I decided I liked how the game played and wanted to support them with some money. Buy $50 worth of RP because I figure thats what the game would cost. Pick up a collection of champions for the Digital CE, then pick up a few more I really wanted. Hey that Astronaut teemo is reeeeeally cool. Is that a ninja turtle rammus?! Hey theres a few more skins I think look nice.
Long story short, GODDAMNIT WHERE'D MY CASH GO.

Yup, the PA comic today is eerily correct about how much money people spend on this free game
Someone made a mention about Turrets and Vlad's Trollpool earlier.
I'm too lazy to quote, but here's how it works:
Turret Fires Shot
Shot is En Route
Vlad Activates Trollpool
Shot hits Vlad
Basically it's just this small window where Vlad Trollpooled a millisecond after the shot fired. It'll still hit him. Any other combo and he's safe. Pooling in, pooling out, whatever.
Vlad needs a Bloodpool Lifeguard to tell him to stop fucking running in the blood.
He actually responds in the threads to people directly. He even responded to my mild troll about Vlad (oh, and tanky DPS champs being a part of the next few champ releases), and then conceded that they were nerfing him. Just in one particular way.
I don't think his pool will be as good as it was for letting him escape absolutely everything.
e: Whoops, I didn't read the above. I guess this is common knowledge already!

Not many developers seem to do that.
What makes Morello cool to me is that he is just as much a passive aggressive douche as the people who frequent his forums.
I mean, sure, there's something to be said for Professional and Decorum and all that shit. But honestly? Don't come into my house, complaining about my cookies, shitting in my sink, and expect me to act nice. Especially with Online Gaming, the customer isn't always right. So sit down, shut up, take a number, and I'll tell you how I'm going to run my own free to play game. If you don't like it, bugger off.
He's nice to the people who are nice to him, and a dick to the people who are a dick to him. It's live-action justice.
The funny part is that Vlad is getting close to being the worst champion in the game at this point - he brings almost nothing useful at all to a team - but he's just so incredibly boring and obnoxious to play against.

It's a powerful quality to be sure, especially since he seems fairly restrained in breaking it out. Other times, he's more than happy to discuss stuff. I've never seen another Riot staffer do that.
They usually post once in a thread with a throw away comment. Morello doesn't do that, and that's really refreshing.
It seems to lead to more thought out and constructive threads on the forums. There's a lot of trolling, but since Morello is actually watching, people are forming proper arguments and supporting their claims.
When no one responds to your issues/thoughts/ideas in an area specifically designed and designated for that purpose, troll behavior is going to start to get worse and worse.
His presence I think will have the opposite effect and lead to more constructive threads and more discourse between the players and the devs. Testing teams can only do so much. They need the data from the players as well, and it seems Morello knows this. I'm hoping this is the case anyway.

Agreed. He needs a remake, not a nerf. There's no way to eliminate the complaints with a straight numbers nerf without making him completely unviable.
Edit: And re: Morello, he has had a stick up his ass from day fucking 1 about Vlad. But, to his great credit, I do appreciate devs who legitimately engage with their customers.
It sounds like Yorrick gets multiple pets? I wonder how that works, just one at a time or multiple. I will probably buy him if I can have more then one minion and start every game by shouting "UNLEASH THE UNLIVING HORDE!"

People are saying his pets are like Udyrs stances and that you can have multiple ghosts out but he was made to have mana issues if you do. Plus they don't last long at all . Maybe get a philosophers stone as a first item? Will be interesting to see what people get with him , maybe even get a manamune as the first big item.

Edit: Duh, nvm, I get it.
+300 wins. Took longer than expected, felt like I was stuck at +270 forever.

Yorick is a tanky dps/support character it seems , DO WANT. Skarner is also a tanky dps with a debuff.
Almost makes up for the losing streak. Almost

I think it's time you venture into ranked.

I was hoping for a sweet AP caster/tank with minions
