I never thought vlad was a problem. there are plenty of viable options to lane and win against him with.
Any good 2vVlad lane, for one. I laned vs. Kat + a tanky guy (forgot who). We went kill for kill the entire laning phase, and I'm the best Vlad I've ever played with/against/seen.
Also, as I've said time and time again, WW shreds Vlad and devours his heart for strength. He's such a hard counter.
So I've just started getting into this, and it's pretty damn amazing. But the player community is just pants-on-head idiotic. I've been playing too many random normal games guys.
Let me play with you all. Save my brain.

NOPE.AVI IS A VIDEO FILE ON YOUTUBE WHERE A TEAM FORTRESS 2 ENGINEER RUNS UP TO THE FOREGROUND, HIS HAT RAISES INTO THE AIR, HE SAYS, "NOPE," AND THEN HIS NECK EXTENDS HIS HEAD INTO HIS HAT. HE THEN RUNS OFF SCREEN AND THE VIDEO ENDS.

But then we will think you're pants on head bad.

I fixed it for you. The Sand King was one of my favorites. But he won't be retextured. All of his stuff is basically in the game. Rammus's Ult, Tristana's Buster, Maokai's Snare more or less. The only thing really missing is his sandstorm. He was so awesome.
no. go with a core of roa+zhonyas+abyssal then run into the enemy team ult and use zhonyas
Just tried that... i see how the hourglass works with the ult and all... but otherwise i felt like i needed alot more mana regen.
I played her a few times with philostones X 2, rylai's and some aura items. Worked really well in helping team mates get easy kills.... sorta just played her like janna.
I wanna build her like you mentioned, but i just felt like my damage wasnt high enough and ran outta mana to often. I'm summoner lvl 22 still, so dont maybe im just a tard and need to stop using as much mana.
morg can burn through mana pretty quickly. the catalyst helps you in lane and you might want to try and get blue buff. I used to take clarity on her but I prefer teleport now
Are the recommended items for each hero useless? I'm finding even in vs AI games that pretty much any champion can take me out in a few hits and I'm trying to figure out if it's A) The champions I'm playing as aren't specialized toward champion vs champion fights I'm giving my champion the wrong items C)I have only a very basic grasp of the mechanics or D)all of the above.

It depends on the champ.
The important thing to realize is that in vs. AI games, the AI has a gold cheat, and it gains gold over time even if not farming / killing.

most recommended at this point is usually spot on.
there are some exceptions, but most are usually in the right area.
look up builds and compare them to recommended. they are usually in the same area of focus. some builds just differ more with ArPen/MP or lifesteal/lifeleech or MP max/AD max.
Like he said, depends on the champ. But most of them are good starting points to learn the champ.
hmm, I tried gangplank in my first human battle, did better than all the AI matches. Except for one guy who was playing as master Yi and dominating everyone. He had like 30 kills by the end.
Maybe I'll stick with it, just try some more champs.

Honestly, I cringe every time I see someone pick Gangplank. The way they nerfed him didn't change his playstyle at all, but now he no longer benefits from playing passive.
Basically your only hope is to get a solo lane with a complete mouthbreather on the other side, or a support who babysits the fuck out of you. If you can make it to 9 without feeding the other team 5-6 kills, then there's a chance of being a pirate monster, but even then, I have never, ever, ever been afraid of Gangplank.
Even when I play supports, I look at him as a free kill. Particularly so if he isn't near minions.

you obviously haven't gone up against an Infinity Edge/Phantom Dancer GP with 150+ creep kills then.

I've never ran faster from any champion.
Seriously. You must be playing some terrible Gangplanks.
On another note, it really bugs me I can't play AP champs as well as I can play AD champs. It's like a hurdle I can't get over.
Edit: Or maybe I should say "mage" vs. ranged/melee champs.

honestly if the gankplank is good enough, running may not matter. Only champ I have seen get more fed was a master yi... but i don't want to talk about that.

It's not that he's a problem to beat. Never really has been.
It's that beating him is tedious and unfun.

Honestly the first thing I thought when I saw him.

well, worse than i normally do
The 0/0/52 Sona from last game was one of them. 60 kills, she was involved in 52 of them. Lady, you are awesome.

I'm guessing your team had 8 kills before she hit 6
while TF's still list all AD related items

I have trouble getting there though
