Does this mean I have to play the game a bunch to have access to certain weapons/armor abilities?
There are "specialization" abilities which you do have to grind to get yes. The guns and stuff are probably all available from default although you'll probably only have one class slot at first and get more as you go.

Took me right out of it! He'll be like the Stan Lee of a live action Halo series.
My POV about spoilers is that even though I may see something sensitive, I am not IN THE MOMENT, nor experiencing what they want me to see, feel, hear, think. Spoilers tend to be a bit out of context. So if I hear that someone dies or something happens, I kind of shrug my shoulders and put it off.
That said, my internet blinders are still on, hardcore.

I have seen both the base (on purpose) and the peak (bit of an accident) of the mountain.
They've shown off some Grifball footage actually, and it looks like a lot of fun. Since the ball is an oddball, you can now throw it. And if you kill the ball carrier with the sword, you'll automatically pick up the ball.

You know what could be fun? Have grenade look similar to the ball and you can throw them while carrying. There's a pump-fake for you.
Have a target giftcard, so im dead set on getting the limited edition there, but im not able to preorder it (all they have for preorder is regular halo 4, I even asked if they had a different way to preorder the limited edition). Theres no reason to think target wouldn't get the limited edition right?

I work at Target. If you are at a decently sized store (read: SuperTarget in high volume area) it may be very difficult to get a copy of the limited. Jerkfaces (read: Team Members) will hide them for themselves. Our store may not see more than 3 copies. That said, show up at open, and if they have them, you will most likely get one.
Deal ends on Sunday before midnight. No tax (for most states) and free shipping. Newegg doesn't charge until they ship the item out.

If your first choice doesn't have it, or you can't make it by open, you might be able to call the stores and have them hold one for you. The hold policy doesn't say anything AFAIK about items such as the LE, but it is up to the discretion of management if they have a low quantity.

Just saw some 2L bottles of Mt Dew advertising "Buy this get double xp in Halo 4!"
It's been confirmed that Halo 4 has no visible Trueskill ranks.

edit: Also, if you don't have the Multiplayer disc installed when you put in Disc 1, it'll prompt you to insert the disc OR download the data from Xbox Live. That's a rare bright spot on MS's part. So even if you only have disc 1, you can still get the MP data and play online/LAN.

I'd bet there's a gametype option to disable custom loadouts
they said that there will be default loadouts available, at least, so you don't have to start out not having an armor ability like a dang clown

So apparently halo 4 has leaked online and is on most of the big torrent sites now
So look forward to a whole bunch of spoilers turning up on the internet in the next few days

And it is so, so good.
- No Assault in Halo 4
- Every playlist is one gametype (confirmed by 343). Flag is a playlist, Slayer is a playlist, etc
- At launch there will be Slayer Pro. BR/DMR/AR Start with one frag, increased player speed, and no radar, and no abilities.
Assault would have been quite interesting to play if they had a throw mechanic on the bomb like the halo 4 oddball does

I like the art direction of what I've seen of Halo 4 quite a bit more than Reach's art style
