Does downsampling really provide a noticeable increase in image quality?
It deblurrs things. Like, the big fat golden squares on Foltests robe are a bit blurred even at max. Downsampled they look more detailed. Of course, this "extra detail" is applied to everything, not just those lapels. Every item and texture on the screen is more detailed. It also AA's everything and it's less resource intensive than ubersampling.
It's not really worth it though for general gameplay I reckon. It's more a screenshot kind of thing. Neither is ubersampling. I can't stand input lag.
Morninglord on
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
Input lag is the worst, yeah, especially in a game as reaction-intensive as Witcher 2.
I love how the King looks.

Just dusted off Witcher 2 last night and discovered that the bullshit QTE dragon event was made possible for non-twitch types. But I crashed to desktop shortly after reaching the lit room and disheveled Lady. PC/Steam version.
Does this game crash a bit? Or maybe I have some problem with a corrupted save or file? Was going to remove and have steam redownload and see if that helps at all. But wanted to see if the crashing was typical.
Dark Horse and CDPR to collaborate on a Witcher comic:
So, it's only natural that at New York Comic Con 2013, they'd announce their latest - like others, it's built off an RPG, but unlike others, it will be cast with the main playable character from the series. Teased just prior to the convention, Dark Horse and CD Projekt RED are teaming for an all-new story in the comic book version of The Witcher. Hailing from writer Paul Tobin, the series features Geralt in an all-new adventure that weaves itself into the canon of the games.
Anybody have a link to a good wiki or something where I can read all of the plot for The Witcher 1. I've given up trying to actually play it, because I find some of the systems fun but the game in general intolerable. Based on what i've heard about the changes in 2, I think I will actually enjoy playing that one, and 3 of course looks incredible, but I want to make sure I know all the major plot points of 1. The furthest I ever made it was to the swamp or whatever, fairly early.

I actually got that far before ending the game at that point on my very first playthrough. Then when Witcher 2 was about to come out I finally just went back to it and cleared the entire game.
Keep going, the storyline gets by and large much more interesting and kind of makes up for the janky gameplay.
Or at the very least have a save game handy to import into Witcher 2.
Was anything except for the first two books ever translated to English?
The Time of Contempt was released. Book 2 in the Witcher Saga, but the 3rd book about Geralt including the short stories from The Last Wish. Baptism of Fire is due out late February.
36 different endings is less than it sounds. It's just 6 different main events with two endings each.

Lots of great information there, read up, you'll learn how they developed Witcher 2 in half the time as the first, had to cut content hence why the third act was so short and more.
KM - Will our choices maded in The Wither 1 affect The Witcher 3? (giving soul of Jacques de Aldersberg to Wild Hunt or not)
MP - We will implement different consequences of your previous decisions from TW1 and TW2 and you will probably see some characters because of your choices which you made in both games.
KM - Will we see absolutely new mini-games?
MP - Yes.
KM - Will we see dice poker again?
MP - Definitely not. We planned several mini-games. Few of them small, and one for two-three minutes and longer.
KM - Will we see Geralt's outfit from first game?
MP - I'm not seen model of this outfit yet, I'm not seen most of them actually. In TW3 will be about 30 new outfits. Every of them has absolute diferent look.
KM - Can we do something else with horse, not just riding on it. Talk or feed maybe?
MP - Yes, horse have characteristics which you can increase, and train your horse while your journey. You can saddle wild horse with axii, but she runs away after you get down. Geralt will talk with Roach, just like in "52 and half" trailer.
KM - Will Geralt have realistic needs: eat, drink, sleep and relieve himself?
MP - No, it will be realistic, but that's not Sims you know.
KM - Can Geralt steal things?
MP - Yes, he can. And NPC will react on this.
KM - Stealth elements?
MP - No, we are not a big fans of it. And it not fits with our game.
KM - What about UI? How will inventory look like?
MP - We don't like lists in TW2 and we want to make it more flexible and with slots or cells for items to find them faster. And limitations will be in remaining free cells not weight.
KM - How works jumping? There will be special quests with it?
MP - No, you can just jump through fences, pits and also you can use ladders.
KM - Can Geralt use additional weapons, like his hook for trophies?
MP - We prepare something special for this matter, but this is surprise.
KM - Will you implementing group finishers?
MP - We working on it and trying to make them smoother. It will be not a cutscenes from TW2, but nonstop fighting.
KM - Can you tell us more about tactics in combat?
MP - You were attacked by five bandits. They are in aggressive state. You kill their leader, and others is now in defence state, if there is only one enemy left he will try to escape. And against this one you can use finisher.
KM - Will we meet tough opponents, which hard to defeat at low levels?
MP - Yes, you will meet worthy opponents.

i thought he was done with it? anywho from the sounds of it seems like its a side story to the main saga, neither prequel or sequel.

Birthday art!
edit: guessing thats world states rather than completely different endings like w2.
I think that's what it is
If that's what it is, that's still a massive degree of both variety and granularity
Finally got to see two certain people meet up.........and it goes without saying who has the last word is definitely firmly established.
I'm guessing it's

Roll for foreplay.

That would be it.

But for all that it's still a pretty good time, it's just that its sequel is better in pretty much every way
Haha that jumping box is the best! Aw yiss indeed!
I gotta say, this book is seriously enhancing my understanding of the games, particularly the second one
Quite a few people in here would enjoy these books to death
Find them at your local library
