EDIT: I guess the only english one is the subtitles on the Mario Kart interview and all the others are just the japanese trailers.
People you StreetPass with can be added to your list for playing against them online in Mario Kart? That seems counter to the "protect the children" stance they've had in the past. I guess it's not the same thing as being able to add random online people to your friend list, though.
Oh also in the new Mario 3D Land video, Nintendo showed off that they are using the only possible way that 3D can be used to influence gameplay: a locked camera view with graphics that make it look like things are laid out one way, but in 3D you can see the difference.
Now this is what I've been waiting for.
I hope they'll implement this in "regular" levels rather than these 3D show-case ones.

Screw the 2D-people!
They can't really do it in regular levels because it relies on a totally locked camera that doesn't move, even when you enter the room. Otherwise the natural parallax of further away objects moving slower would kick in and you'd be able to see it without 3D on.
But they did also show other gameplay scenes that looked like they would be awesome in full 3D, playing from an overhead view etc.
Just saw that NoA is releasing Mario Kart 7 on December 4th....the day I'm getting married. Hmmmmm.....this could be a problem.
The choice is obvious: Mario Kart 7. Weddings can always be postponed.
Alternatively, hold the wedding at your local Best Buy.
Obviously this is the correct option.
I can believe how hyped I am for 3D Land. I was iffy on it because something about it just seemed "off" but I was completely sold last night. Bring it on, my body is ready.

That particular room confused the hell out of my 6 year old son (Demo'd it at PAX), who's not supposed to have the 3D on anyway. So I guess it's a big middle finger to their youth audience.
*edit* Those Screenshots are prettier than it looked in person. Not that it looked BAD, but there's some level of Bullshot occurring.
Yeah, no way the peripheral will be built into the next 3DS revision.
This will still only be used by a few games, and possibly abandoned when the new 3DS revision comes out (without two extra shoulder buttons and an extra analog) and this cradle doesn't fit it (or they come out with a new cradle I guess).
They should have added some controller grips to that cradle while they were at it, and rumble.
Were I to buy a 3DS, I'd be pretty pissed if I then had to buy an additional peripheral to add more buttons to play the games I wanted to.
But from what we know of Monster Hunter it's not required and only supported. You don't have to buy it at all. You simply choose how you want to control the games.
I mean to each their own. I suppose you don't have to get a 3ds and you can miss out on all of the games regardless of their control scheme.

Yea, I'll end up getting the slide pad....but pretty much only for Monster Hunter. :P

Oh, merely being a pessimist. Monster Hunter doesn't interest me at all.
Now that I can see the bottom that thing looks really very comfortable. I can definitely see myself using one when I'm at home with it. Not about to cram that into a pocket any time soon.

I also played it at PAX, and I agree. PAX had Mario 3D, Kid Icarus, StarFox (of course) and MarioKart 7 playable... and of those MarioKart was the most fun. Kid Icarus was cool too.

Didn't wait in line for Kid Icarus, but played the rest. Mario 3D was actually kinda awkward, the demo level was set up with a strange camera angle that really confused depth if you didn't have the 3D on, and naturally I was letting my son play with the 3D off. It also had a weird, blocky, pits to nowhere feel like Mario 64; almost like they took a step back from Galaxy.
Starfox was cool, MK7 really sold me on the system, though. Pretty sure that's why my wife made me buy her one a few days later.
Seeing that screenshot you posted in 3D has helped me see how this is going to work now. Pretty cool. I was hoping there would be some gameplay innovations from the 3D and not just aesthetics.

I guess I'm a little annoyed at the slide pad attachment just because it'll remove the ability to use an aftermarket battery. I know I'll be using it for MH at least (if it's brought to the US), so it's a bit of a annoyance. And yes, I know it can supposedly be played without the slide pad, but having two sticks to play games like MH is super useful.
That slidepad looks bulky, does it include a battery? I'll probably end up getting that attachment, because the 3ds is a little uncomfortable to hold. (I think the extra thickness will help.)
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

It uses a AAA battery.

There's very little in that whole announcement that doesn't interest me at some level.

I have no idea how Nintendo is going to top this.
That's actually a good angle for it.
Maybe I'm in a minority but I really like the look of the thing and plan on getting a hold on one as soon as I can.

They're not bullshots.
No U.
Seriously, I obviously can't side to side, but it seemed far more aliased at PAX.
Possibly it actually was less polished (ie not a real release candidate at PAX)
