I don't think it's possible for it to have been more aliased, considering these shots have Zero anti-aliasing. If you're talking about jaggies, it's probably just because there's less contrast between the colors in these shots and the colors used in the demo you played. Using less-constrasting colors also helps prevent visible ghosting/crosstalk, so they're probably tweaking all of the color design at the last stage of development.

I gotta say, for as ugly as that slide pad add-on appears, it actually looks really comfortable to hold. It also makes it no longer portable.

Still debating getting a 3DS or waiting for a revision. There's a couple games out now that I want, and a few more are on the horizon.

I've been to a few other boards to hear what some people are saying about the Monster Hunter news. I wish I could say I was surprised by the amount of bitching i'm hearing, but i'm not. Some of them are obviously Sony fanboys, and others take some kind of pleasure in pointing out how Nintendo and Capcom's stocks dropped immediately afterwards. Course the stock thing is normal for an announcement like this, and I don't expect it to last.

As for me, I'm very excited by this news, I just hope these actually get over here.

It's 3 mini Gamecubes taped together on the inside. That's how they do the 3D.

I hope we hear more about Bravery Default and a soonish release date. It looks like a spiritual successor to 4 Warriors of Light (good or bad thing depending on your perspective). Personally I liked that game.

I cannot believe I haven't rushed out and bought a 3DS with all these games coming up. The Dodge of old would have grabbed one the moment it came out, but now with all these incredible franchises on the horizon, the pull is getting stronger. The only thing missing is...I dunno...Mario Golf? This system is a Nintendo fan's dream come true. Must wait for revision...must wait for revision...

I think he's referring to supposed practices of devs/publishers using roundabout terms to hold sought after releases "hostage" by pulling "Well if you buy this thing you don't really want, maybe we'll give you that thing you really DO want. Maybe. Maybe we'll just tell you to go fuck yourselves anyway" I'm not saying that sort of thing actually happens but I've heard rumors of it. Most recently things like Namco/Bandai with their Tales releases and Capcom hinging the future of the DmC series on whether or not this reboot sells well

Yeah, it is confirmed on the MH website itself, where it details the control method that uses the touch screen and face buttons.

I didn't like when Miyamoto said the future of the Star Fox franchise depends on Star Fox 3D doing really well. I can't say it would be a bad decision though.
I also can't say how serious that comment really was.

Slightly related, I definitely expect a WiiU version of Luigi's Mansion eventually. I can see plenty of neat ideas there, more light hearted versions of what we may eventually see in a Fatal Frame on WiiU

I'm not sure how I feel about the new Mario game. I loved Mario 3, kinda liked Mario 64, and was totally uninterested in Galaxy. Does the Tanuki suit even let you turn into the statue anymore? If not, why didn't they just use the raccoon tail/leaf powerup? Why does Mario do that weird Yoshi air-walk instead of tailwaggling when flying?

I need to play a demo or something. Preordered it just because of SMB3, now I'm not so excited...

they couldn't implement the suit without bumping into gameplay problems so now it just slows your descent when you wear it and that is all it does

The future of all franchises ever depend on their games doing well. It's, you know, logical. Why continue to produce something nobody wants? (not that that is the case with Starfox)

I wish I knew; that seems to be the effect on everything else, minus the ears. I certainly would have preferred it; the full suit is just such a tease, and I always liked regular Mario with the ears and tail tacked on. On the upside, I do like how they integrated the bill of his cap into the suit...

Oh, and the leaf is what triggers it this time. Go figure.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's no longer portable, just... less portable.

I mean, if you're going on vacation or to a friend's house, it's a heck of a lot more portable than packing up a console, cords, controllers, etc... it just might not fit in your pocket as easily any more.

And for what it's worth, I've heard people say the original Game Boy didn't fit in their pocket, but it was still portable. ;P

It is kind of odd, but I do love the tanuki suit even if it only has the powers of the regular leaf.

I remember back in the day that suit was legendary, I would look at it in the manual and wanted to get it so bad, but it was so rare, and one hit and it's gone.

Then I got Game Genie and they had "start and stay as" codes for fire flower, raccoon tail, etc. but not for that suit. All they had was "start as," so you could still lose it. Bah!

He, I remember when my parents bought me the first gameboy, I loved it...but yea, it was far from easily pocketable. :P

I will readily buy that add on for Monster Hunter as for the most part, not many games will require the add-on. It really doesn't look that bad to hold though.

I'm so stuck right now. Part of me REALLY wants a 3DS now that I know a hardware revision isn't happening in the near future. I know that I could probably sell my DSLite console and PSP console/games and end up with a 3DS free or nearfree. However, my DSLite is signed by Gabe/Tycho/Wil Wheaton from PAXEast and I'd hate to part with it - but I can't see needing two DS consoles...and I swore I'd wait and weigh Vita vs 3DS when they were both available...

I guess I need to win the lottery so I can get one guilt free. Or find some sugar momma/daddy to buy one for me...hope my wife doesn't mind.

Well okay the Vita's battery time is so laughable that I guess the 3DS could get away. Now I only hope that the second analogue stick is just an optional gimmick and was only overhyped by gaming blogs. The fact that this... THING needs an extra battery is honestly far beyond anything I could ever accept as a consumer. I want a 3DS so much, but all these uncertainties...
