Will I subscribe again? Oh definitely. Unsubscribing doesn't really cost you anything; you can still play the game just fine, and bearing in mind some people are on 3/6 month recurring subs it may be some time before they need to re-subscribe, but they haven't in any real sense quit yet.

The main problem I see is that people don't realise they still have other revenue streams than EvE.
See a few years ago CCP was sitting round looking for another MMO to do, some of them played this odd pen and paper game called World of darkness, so rather than fighting to get rights to do the IP ad have to pay royalties and such they bought the company White Wolf and by default became to owners of the mmo game rights to world of darkness. now before being bought by CCP White Wolf was making money, and had a decent fan base.
So while EVE is important, they have other things making money, and you think EVE's player base is something, find people that play world of darkness and talk to them, those people are scary.

I have the same issue with wanting to move out a battleship and strip miner with all the gear. Would it be better to simply sell all the crap in Empire and then buy out in 0.0. The market looks really solid out there, but the ships tend to be spread out around the region. I really just need my ratting ship and my miner and I'll be happy

Scott Jennings knows what the fuck is up in the MMO industry (because he works in it) and you would do well to modify your monitor's brightness settings so as to better appreciate his superior shitposting skills.
1) I agree with what he suspects, this probably won't quite be the next NGE and kill EVE online, like some forums (especially the official ones) are thinking it will be, though it's gonna cost them far more subs than they'd like.

Just started up the trial for this game, and am kinda lost. Any suggestions on ship fits or ways to get into Level 2 Security missions faster? I'm currently working on the Sisters of Eve epic arc. Is there any way I can get an extension to my trial and some info on applying to the PA corp?
There's no way to get an extension on your trial (as far as I know) and I doubt you'll be able to raise the ISK to get a PLEX after just the trial so you might have to bite the bullet and subscribe.
As far as getting into MerchI, turn off your CSPA Charges (I forget how but google knows) and EVEmail Random Gen or Midshipman about recruitment. Though looking at your postcount, magic 8-ball says "doubtful".

As for fittings, uh.. I don't do missions so I'm no help there but Caldari cruisers are good for everything, and the Rifter (minmatar frigate) is the best of the T1 frigates (some people will argue on this point, these people are wrong).
Destroyers are really only good for killing frigates, fighting anything bigger than a frigate, you're better off in a frigate than in a destroyer.
Also, make sure you train your support skills. If you just have the bare minimum for the hull and a gun, you're dead dead dead.
Normally I'd say check out the goonwiki for fittings but you can't, so.. battleclinic, I guess?
No real way to extend the trial outside of paying for another month.
There are skills that increase your mission rep gain and stuff, I don't really know much about them though. You'll need 1 standing with an agent to do Level 2 missions, 3 for level 3, and 5 for level 4. A quick glance at the goon wiki suggests:
Social: Increases standing gains by 5%.
Diplomacy: Makes agents like you better. Increases standing if they already hate you.
Connections: Like Diplomacy, but for people who like you already.
Criminal Connections: Like the above, but for "evil" NPC sectors, like bands of pirates and the like.
In other words, get Social and Connections and bump them up as you can.
As for joining Merch, I'll flat out warn you now -- it's unlikely. You only have 3 posts. You'll have to stay active in this thread and convince people you're not a horrible spy from the evil Band of Brothers, come back from the grave to piss on our shoes. Or something.
Actually, a skilled/standing built jita alt is worth a ton. It can save you millions of isk if you use buy/sell orders. Hell, a max skilled/standing(s) Jita alt can turn a profit on some things by just buying them and fulling orders because they suffer zero taxes.

As for level 2 missions, your best bet will be a cruiser of some sort. I don't don't know what race you are training down, but my favorites are:
Gallente: Vexor with some rails on top, or just a fat tank if you can't fit everything + drone things down.
Minmatar: AC rupture
Caldari: light missile Caracal
Amarr: mallermallermaller
Each Sanctum is 20-30m, so I need 5-7 sanctums? That's doable. That's very doable.
(Also: Christ the cost of PLEX is out of control. 400-450m in Goonspace.)

I assume this has something to do with jump clones? I haven't screwed with them since I came back, so I honestly don't know.
Because a Jita alt doesn't need any actual skills (only as a luxury), so they don't need to train them.
And it is a little known fact that you can create more than one character on an account.
