Ugh, I'm pissed. I saw what was a clear scam to get me on aggression timer, and died anyway.

In a sisters of eve mission, I have to pick up some personnel, and some jackass was sitting at the location, presumably picking up the personnel each time they spawn, and there was a yellow icon cargo container proclaiming "MISSION CRITICAL PERSONNEL ITEM"

I didn't fall for it, but when I went to click the open cargo item on my overview, for the target locked mission item(not the container), I got dicked anyway. I guess I was trying to drag it to my cargo even though he had somehow proclaimed it, even though I was dragging it from the correct object?

I did see a warning that, like an idiot, I clicked accidentally.

The difference though is that, unlike missions/belts which are always there, and anoms, which you can find whenever (assuming you can find any), Incursions are a little rarer, and may be taking place in a very inconvenient place, and there will be competition to participate.

    From the impression I'm getting:

Incursions > 'Plexes > Anoms > Belt Ratting in terms of best to worst Ratting right now. Missions probably go in there someplace

Incursions seem like the Heroic Endgame to EVE PVE. Get a group together, kill shit, yadda yadda.
Complexes are the instances, they're not supposed to be soloable, but some of us just have big balls.
Anoms are like belt ratting, but better in every instance save one -- loot. You get more isk, you can salvage as normal, and you get basically 4-7 waves of "free" mobs to fight, 0 effort required. And there's a rare chance at a faction spawn.

Finally got some peace and quiet. I'm down a bit of money (basically have to redo an entire Ishtar, I'm in my backup, plus all my implants) but at this rate I should have a PLEX by the time my account runs out.

To be perfectly honest, your description of the event is not very clear. You locked mission item? That is not possible. Most likely, you locked wreck of a ship that dropped container with mission item. Probably ninja picked the mission item before you, and jettisoned it into his own container next to the wreck. You thought that this was original container dropped by the rat, and took the item. You ignored the warning and paid for it.

If you enjoyed service provided by the ninja, you could consider trying to ninja yourself. It's easy, fun, and can be profitable. And it can be done by characters with few skill points. Ask here if you want to learn secrets of EVE ninjerktsu.

I locked the mission item, and the container out of which I was grabbing the item, was the mission wreck, and I still got hit with aggression.

I'm just confused that this could happen, when my action was open cargo, from a mission wreck. Obviously I screwed up with the warning.

Down side: Paid for it with the insurance money from my second Ishtar.

Reaaaally need to take a break from ratting as spacefrench. Seriously, fucking hell it's boring, and boring = not noticing shitheads in local until it's too late.

Nah, I don't play enough to be a bittervet. Just tired of reds everywhere, 24x7, and me not being any good at PVP. Still trying to get my gunnery skills up to snuff so I can play with the big kids.

Gotten ganked quite badly today, since there are like 3 or 4 roaming squads in Goonspace and intel is... nonexistant. No realistic defense fleets, either. Very frustrating, especially since I know a good part of it's my own damned fault.

And there's always this little voice in the back of my head going "And think, if you were a highsec pubbie you could be doing L4 missions for no risk and the same amount of jew gold."

damns so i could literally pay for an account with like 2 incursions huh, thats a bit ridicuous

More than two. An average fleet doing vanguard sites (which many consider the most profitable isk/hr) will pull in about 60m/hr. That's about 10 minutes per site, but a good fleet can finish them in less time. That doesn't include the Concord loyalty points that pilots earn. The LPs can either be used to purchase Concord items (mostly capital ship stuff) or redeemed at most corporations (you lose a percentage of the LPs this way).

Edit: unless you meant an entire incursion start to finish. In that case it's hard to say, but most last ideally for at least a few days. You could make a lot of isk if you were planted in a chair doing an entire incursion.

May I inquire as to your choice of ratting ship and how it is setup? I was damn good at ninja ratting in deep nullsec back in the day and my be able to provide assitance.

Level 4's.....people here are saying you can make more in them. If you have a maxed out mission runner character, I s'pose it's true (Level 5 Marauder checking in, sup), but unless you're maxed, unsure if it really beats out ratting.

    So that's:
Min - BS, T2 all projectiles to Medium
Gal - BS, T1 hybrids to Large
Cal - BC, 1 level away from T2 HMLs

I know the feeling, I basically was straight up amarrian for 6 years, I can fly any non-capital amarrian ship, except for marauders, then last year i invested into minmatar, so now I can fly anything smaller then a battleship for minmatar, just maxed out t2 medium guns on em, now I am thinking about crosstraining to gallente for the ishtar :?

Updates are coming out of the CSM meeting, although nothing specific.

Apparently the unsubscriptions... weren't. Just a few people being loud and dramatic on the forums: @TheMittani: "We're in the nitty gritty examining metrics related to the crisis, seeing which player demos have unsubbed. So far, things are ok."

CSMs seem mollified about the NEX thing. Specifically: @Trebor_CSM: "NEX store / pricing meeting winding down. Tough, but if CCP explains to you the way they explained to us, less butthurt"

They showed off the new racial specific CQs -- the one we have in game is the Minmitar racial one. Apparently the Gallente one is quite nice.

They're apparently going to release statements and stuff tomorrow tonight.

What I don't get is: Why spend the huge amount of capital to fly the CSM to Iceland last minute, if they already had solutions in the works. If CCP knew the cash store was bad and had an idea on how to make it less bad, put that shit out there for the public.

I know my opinion means little since I don't play any more, but I have to say, if I was still playing? This kind of shit pisses me off more then a bad business decision. At no point did CCP need the CSM to come, cause a huge delay in solutions, and impose a PR black-out for days if they already had idea's. Something that has so polarized the player base needs to be exposed to the player base. Right away. Using the CSM as your PR group just seems more dirty to me.

It was a display of good faith. And it worked. The majority of the raging EVE playerbase was pissed because the CSM let it be known that they had no idea about any of this shit beforehand. (Granted they were more pissed about other things, but that was just gas on the fire.)

By flying the CSM in it mollified the threadnought for a while, and bought them time to work out solutions and make sure the player base felt like they had a say in it.

Sorry, I've been out of town since Monday, and I'm the only one who does new apps (other directors might do the occasional ret vet).

I should get to it tonight, but I've got a double header softball game in 100 degree + heat so if I'm totally wiped out I might not, in which case I'll do it tomorrow night before I head out of town for the holiday weekend.

Edit: Okay I did a quick background check and you're fine assuming you don't have a hostile corp history.
